About this listen

This wonderfully perceptive new audiobook is about the lines we'll cross for love. It's about the murky areas between right and wrong, and the complexities of modern relationships.

The Hypnotist's Love Story is about the mild craziness that lurks behind the facades we present to the world, especially when it comes to love.

Ellen O'Farrell is an expert when it comes to human frailties. She's a hypnotherapist who helps her clients deal with everything from addictions to life-long phobias. So when she falls in love with a man who is being stalked by his ex-girlfriend she's more intrigued than frightened. What makes a supposedly smart, professional woman behave this way? She'd love to meet her!

What she doesn't know is that she already has. Saskia has been masquerading as a client, and their lives are set to collide in ways Ellen could never have predicted.

loved it! It makes you think about relationships from all sides, and made me realise I have been all sides.

Thank you for this book.

I've listened to all of the Liane Moriarty books available on Audible and, next to What Alice Forgot, this is my favourite.

Seemingly simply lives entwine to create this wonderful story. That's the beauty - it's so believable. The relationship between the key characters unfolds at a tantalising pace. I didn't want it to end !!!!!

Liane at her best.

Disappointing. I struggled identifying the different characters through voice alone - but maybe this was because I am not that used to the narrator's Australian accent. I also felt the characters were rather shallow and the plot pretty one dimensional. But maybe this type of book just isn't my cup of tea. I did finish though so I guess it must be ok.

Just not my cup of tea.

Maybe it's because I'm a Brit and unused to the Australian accent, but I was frequently caught out when Ellen's voice changed to Saskia and vice versa, I felt there was not sufficient distinction between them and often got somewhat confused until I realised what had happened. Great story though!

I love Lianes books! Her phraseology and witty prose are always interesting to hear particularly read by Caroline Lee. Caroline is amazing, she delivers every situation as it should be and transports you to the place in the book. I'm sorry its ended

Another Moriarity masterpiece

It was a much more gentle plotline than I was expecting. I can't fault the performance because it was read brilliantly. This book is a nice story but I was expecting more oomf. That's probably my fault more than anything though; read too much into the blurb.

Nice but not what I was expecting

I loved the book, the way the author expressed the feelings, the intrigues, the sadness, the pain, the love, and the narrator is amazing. just bought new one from Moriarty

couldn't stop

I did complete this book but I have just completed the Outlander series so don't want to be to harsh but found this book a little boring but Outlander was a hard act to follow

Ok

I’ve really enjoyed 3 other Lianne Moriarty books, BLL, Husbands secret and 9 perfect strangers. I think it’s probably because of the twists and turns they take. This one however just seemed to meander through and peter out. Nothing offensive, nothing thrilling and I struggled to build and associate with the characters in my head. Maybe Ive listened to the narrators voice too many times now.

IMHO not up to normal standards

Really good and unusual story read beautifully. Slightly overlong but none the worse for that. Thoroughly enjoyed it
