Summary

Desperate to escape a harsh and narrow regime, two runaways unwittingly flee headlong into the centre of a terrible battle. This first sequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe includes all the hallmarks of its famous predecessor, though this time the fate of Narnia is wound up in the lives of its own children, and a talking horse!

This was the fifth book written in The Chronicles of Narnia. It now stands as the third book in the series.

Beautiful story, reading and music - magical

Micheal Hordern, a genius narrator, goes above and beyond for this Narnia series. Hordern's voices are brilliant, and he keeps the listener deeply engaged and involved. The harp and flute music is sublime, giving a sense of movement or of feeling, creating the scene powerfully and memorably. The combination of story, music and narrator is magical. All brilliantly done, I particularly like The Horse and His Boy from this series, it works particularly well.

Good storyline, poor execution

I love this story and have read it many times. Although the narrators voice is pleasant to listen to, I think the type of voice and story could have been better matched. the loud piercing music is also somewhat off putting. nonetheless, I enjoyed hearing the story again very much!

Terrible loud music drowns out the readers voice!!

A wonderful book, but a terrible audible version! please refrain from loud music, louder than the voice if the reader.
