About this listen

Following on from The Magician’s Nephew and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, this is a classic fantasy adventure from The Chronicles of Narnia.

Desperate to escape a harsh and narrow regime, two runaways unwittingly flee headlong into the centre of a terrible battle. This first sequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe includes all the hallmarks of its famous predecessor, though this time the fate of Narnia is wound up in the lives of its own children – and a talking horse!

delighted

very unique, good description, and the narrator really brings the story to life. I feel as if I were actually there, at the scene, watching and observing. Overall, I give it 5/5. It's definitely worth the money or credits.

Excellent narration - please lose the music

I couldn’t fathom why music was briefly inserted between some of the chapters. Added nothing and a distraction when listening to as sleep beckons.

Other than that, excellent narration and a wonderful story.

Probably enjoyed more by its target audience

Find myself agreeing with other reviewers . It is Alex Jennings masterly reading that makes this story so satisfying. Had I read this as a much younger person I would have loved it. For me it was too predictable and lacked the passion of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe . For all that I did enjoy it and appreciate the way that Lewis addressed his readership.

Chronicles of Narnia: Part 3

I have loved these stories since I first read them in 1975. Now hearing them read aloud enables me to enjoy them afresh, and from a different perspective. Great story, wonderful narrator. I would recommend these stories to anyone, adult or child.

Nice book and love the story line

Hooks you in when you start it and it is well read. You even don’t need to read the other books to make sense of it
