About this listen
This wonderfully illustrative publication provides a comprehensive and informative history of the Royal Navy. From the first standing navy created to repel Viking invasions during the reign of King Alfred and England's famous victory over the Spanish Armada in 1588, to the D-Day landings at Normandy during WWII and the Navy's role in the 21st century, this is a gripping account of the warfare force that became the most powerful navy in the world.

Concise but …..
The content of this audiobook was exactly what I wanted, a brief but comprehensive outline of the history of The Royal Navy
The narration is quite possibly one of the worst I have ever heard however but can at least be given credit for the continually inventive and creative pronunciation of some incredibly basic words, especially place names. I am glad in the end it was so short.
