Great book about the inconvenient truth
Although it takes a 10 minute to get used to the American-ness of this audio, it's a really interesting book about the inconvenient truth of the horrific processes that surround consuming animal products.
It was preaching to the converted for me but I still learnt and enjoyed listening 👍🏻

FAB guide to transitioning to & staying vegan
What made the experience of listening to The Happy Vegan the most enjoyable?
It was really interesting, easy to listen to and very informative. It was full of things I had questions about, and stuff I haven't thought about yet.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Happy Vegan?
I loved the section about the angry vegan and it really made sense.

Excellent and insightful
I have been a vegetarian for 21 years and vegan for 7 months and I am shocked at just how much I didn't know about the meat and dairy industry! I found this book incredibly insightful and very moving at the same time. Highly recommended!

Loved this...
Would you consider the audio edition of The Happy Vegan to be better than the print version?
I've not read the print version but the audio version makes this book easily accessible to anyone.
Who was your favorite character and why?
This book is so easy to understand. Absolutely anyone can listen to this and understand the issue. You don't need to be a vegan or even want to be a vegan to listen to this book. I like the fact that this audio book isn't about preaching to you. In fact he allows you to get to the realisation yourself. This audio book is all about raising our awareness, empathy to the world we live in and all the creatures we share it with, think and care about what we put in our bodies and the journey of that foods to your plate. This books makes you realise that our mass consumerism and excesses cannot continue and has destructive damaging and inhumane consequences. The way we are living in the 21st century is not sustainable for the human race or our plant. Something has got to change.
Which character – as performed by Black Ice – was your favourite?
The passion of the writer for the agenda is clearly evident. The narrator was engaging.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book was moving. I would recommend this to everyone to read.

Impressive
Well, this book has quite literally bowled me over. As a new vegan (6mnths) and someone who has also started doing outreach activism involving chatting to members of the public who are interested, this book has an absolute wealth of wonderful information. I'm also a committed meditator and the whole section dedicated to introducing it's beautiful benefits to newcomers made my heart sing. Russell Simmons really has covered everything the newly vegan or veteran vegans may need to know. I listened to the audiobook version but am about to order a hard copy too as I know that I'll keep returning to it to reference all of the facts, figures and support. Thankyou!

Inspiring Book
Would you consider the audio edition of The Happy Vegan to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version however I found the book and in particular the speaker very inspiring. I have just started my vegan journey and I needed some encouragement and proof of it's benefits, and I got that in great quantity. Excellent writing and at a pace that kept you interested all the time.

Very informative and Inspiring
I am already Vegan, but I wanted to read this book out of interest and it also gave me a lot of new information and has inspired me to check out more studies and books.
I recommend this for anyone curious about Veganism to read.

Frisky and informative
I'm new to veganism and I wanted to get some inspiration and some information - not so much to convince my self but to give my self some back up when under close family questioning ....
I wanted to find something that would appeal to my two teenage sons also -
This audible has been fantastic for both these tasks - the delivery is pacey and brisk - full of warmth and personal stories You will have noticed, I'm sure, that there are plenty of inspired young women offering 'clean eating' guides out there but I found this a very welcome change of perspective and definitely something my teenagers felt more able to relate to.
There are plenty of facts/statistics/references for those who'd like quantifiable information and there's spiritual inspiration also.
Having given up my transcendental meditation practice more than a decade ago the very clear and straightforward instructions at the end of the book have inspired me to start again -
The reading quality couldn't be clearer-
I thoroughly recommend this book.

Essential reading!
This book appealed to me because I love old school hip hop, and just happened to discover it existed a couple of months after realising the need to go vegan.
Though hip hop wasn’t a huge feature, having such a respected & accomplished figure talk about his experiences and journey to veganism while being in that culture made it all the more inspiring & attainable.
There was a small section on yoga/meditation which I haven’t personally adopted (yet) but he talks a lot of sense.
I highly recommend this book, and wish more people took notice of the concepts within it - for the sake of our own health, the environment, and of course, the abused animals who suffer and die every day.
