I did struggle with this at the beginning as I really found the narrators reading and voice a little irritating and I nearly didn’t continue with the story. It’s possibly because I thought the narrator for the green man’s heir was so much better so I associate his voice with the characters. But once I persevered and followed the story, that seemed to bother me less. I enjoyed the story and it was good to hear that they expanded on lore and the world the main characters inhabit. I do recommend the 2 books

Nice world-building. The revelation of the supernatural elements feel very natural. Lead character likeable with some good supporting cast.
For a while I did wonder if it was being narrated by an AI but I eventually got used to the rather mannered delivery

Having enjoyed the first book I found the second book with a change of reader and style so unacceptable that I couldn’t bring myself to finish the story.

I don't know why they decided to change the narrator for the second book, but it was a bad choice. He has a strange way of talking, that is completely off putting and hard to listen too.

I enjoyed the story, not the reader. Hope he won't be returning for the 3rd and 4th books.

I don’t know how I saw this book through to the end - the narrator was DREADFUL! Why, with all the voice actors available, employ someone who is incapable of pronouncing the letter ‘A’ any way other than ‘AYY’ and who speaks through his nose with an accent I couldn’t place?. It really spoiled the book for me as the nasal, whiney voice had me focussed on it, rather than the plot.

The most irritating narrator!

Had to really force myself to listen to the rest after struggling with the first chapter. The narrator is absolutely terrible, his voice has no tone or story awareness in it at all. The whole book was ruined by his monotone flat voice, such a shame as the actual story was great. Please don't allow this person to narrate and ruin any other stories.

Great story but dreadful narration, it’s like he was putting on a strange mystic voice the whole time, even pronouncing some of the characters names completely differently than the narrator of the first book, I really wish they stuck with the original guy, what a waste of my credit
