Summary
Something is happening to the children of Eastbury, Massachusetts.... Something that causes healthy babies to turn cold in their cribs. Something that strikes at the heart of every parent's darkest fears. Something unexplained that is taking the children, one by one.
Sally Montgomery has just lost her beautiful little baby girl. Lucy and Jim Corliss, bitterly divorced, have been reunited by the sudden disappearance of their son. An entire town waits on the edge of panic for the next child to be taken. They all know there must be a reason for the terror. But no one ever expected...The God Project.

Brilliantly writen
John Saul has such an insight into human behaviour and relationships that he must have studied people from an early age. He portrays the community of the small township and the petty, whispering, attitudes of the people living in that environment very accurately.
This story, like all his stories, grabs you from the first page to the last. The narrator is very good. His voice even goes up a notch when reading the exciting paragraphs, just like a commentators does when a goal is about to be scored.

A Solid Mind Game
As expected of John Saul, this is a messed up book. Its tense, and keeps you on you're toes. Makes you keep thinking; "Come on, use your head! You can survive if you THINK AHEAD!" But not all is as it seems, I guess.

Exceptionally Great 👍
I first read this book Decades ago while still in High School. I credit this book with me passing 10th grade english 😆.
Even today after reading hundreds of books this one is still by far my favorite book writen by John Saul.
Never understood people saying I couldn't put the book down, I could put every book down up till this point it was not a problem for me.
I was told this so many times I didn't believe any of them.
I was given a copy so I finally broke down and started to read it. Too my surprise this is one I couldn't put down.
The first book I ever read cover to cover in a matter of a few days, even my 10th grade English teacher was amazed at the time as I hadn't read anything she assigned me 🤣.

John Saul Doesn’t Miss
This novel was so good I couldn’t put it down. Pretty much listened to it non stop over 3 days. The best thing about the storyline was the character development and the twist at the end. Did not see it coming and a movie should be in the works. Another masterpiece, if you are hesitating don’t!

I heartily recommend
I read this book many many years ago, and it remains one of my all time favorites. I finally listened to the audible version and found the story to be just as intriging as I remember and the characters just as well developed. I still keep the paperback on my bookshelf. This one won't disappoint!

it was alright
I thought it was more on the horror side. Not governmental experiments. But it was still good.

new anxiety as an expectant parent
I've been a huge John Saul fan since I was in middle school. I had read this book in the past and loved the creepy atmosphere but listening to it now with my first child on the way set off a whole new level of anxiety. My appreciation for John Saul's work increases as I get older and experience more in life.
