Story
Introverts find external stimulation overwhelming, so they look for ways to retreat from it. A situation that’s easy or fun for one person can be way too much for an introvert. That's fine, as long as they have a choice. But that can change when they go to work. Modern working styles like open-plan offices, brainstorming, and teamwork can be really hard on introverts. The hands-on work is okay, but the emotional labor of working with others can be draining.

Donors, leaders of nonprofits, and public policy makers usually have the best of intentions to serve society and improve social conditions. But often their solutions fall far short of what they want to accomplish and what is truly needed. Moreover, the answers they propose and fund often produce the opposite of what they want over time. We end up with temporary shelters that increase homelessness, drug busts that increase drug-related crime, or food aid that increases starvation.

Sir Lenny Henry rang up the Office for National Statistics to confirm something he'd been thinking about for a long time. They told him that only 29.5 per cent of the United Kingdom's population is made up of white, heterosexual, able-bodied men. So, he wonders, why do they still make up the vast majority of people we see in our media? Joining forces with the former chair of the Royal Television Society's Diversity Committee Marcus Ryder, he draws on decades of experience to reveal why recent efforts to diversify media have been thus far ineffective and why they are simply not enough.

Hard to listen to
Normally I don't write reviews, especially low stars...but here I would like to share my experience.
I'm really sorry, but I couldn't get through the narrator's voice. A bit dull and slow. I though I can help it with changing the "voice speed" and yes, the 1.35 helped a bit.
But then, the whole time was just a "ping pong fight" between different points of view :
This might sound risky, but I like it because of this
I often do it this way, but others thing it's crazy
I work where I want, but some people like their office
Perhaps I didn't give it enough time, maybe the rest of the content is really great... but I couldn't get there because of this :(

Essential toolkit that covers the basics
This is a really useful and informative guide that explains everything you need to know to kickstart your freelance career. There are lots of examples, tasks and tips. It's well structured, thereby ensuring you think before jumping in. Some things may appear obvious but that's what I like - the devil is in the detail. My only criticism is I found the author's narration a bit annoying - but narrating her own work does reinforce her working ethos - expanding your horizons and trying new things to remain stimulated (see the Low Hanging Fruit exercise in chap 13).
