Summary
We've all encountered people like Fred in our lives. In The Fred Factor, Mark Sanborn illuminates the simple steps each of us can take to transform our own lives from the ordinary into the extraordinary. Through stories about Fred and others like him, Sanborn reveals four basic "how to" principles that will help us bring fresh energy and creativity to our life and work: how to make a real difference everyday, how to become more successful by building strong relationships, how to create real value for others without spending a penny, and how to constantly reinvent yourself.
By following these principles, and by learning from and teaching other "Freds", you too can excel in your career and make your life extraordinary. As Mark Sanborn makes clear, each of us has the potential be a Fred. The Fred Factor shows you how.

Background Music Ruins Audible Experience
I purchased the audible version so I could listen in my car during my 2 hr daily commute however the background music playing during the reading is so loud and distracting that I can’t hear or focus on the words. FAIL!!

Pure genius
This book was so uplifting and filled with fantastic wisdom about reconnecting with your own values. The main premise was remaining true to the things that are important to you, despite the conditions you are sometimes faced with - like coming into contact with challenging customers, beauracracy within your organisation, restrictive policies and procedures, and team mates who don't want to play team. If a postal worker can inspire people and deliver them amazing, personalised and touching service, I'm pretty sure I can too.

What we all should strive for
The Fred Factor is on my must read list. This book provides insightful knowledge of customer service based on the simple Fred character. The story is basic but the thought that centers on each of the key points of the book are extremely deep. I enjoyed listening to this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who has to help motivating teams to “take care of the customer”.

Could be a simple statement of...
go above and beyond the call of duty in your job and life, like Fred does.

Way to go Fred
We were asked to read this book for a supervision class I was taken and approached it with the attitude of “let’s knock this out”. I was clearly wrong, I listened to the audio book twice already and recommended it to my wife and kids. Great story and well written with the daily dose of the Golden Rule.

A customer mentioned this philosophy to me..
After a customer recently said I have the Fred factor, I was curious so I found the book and listen to it. By nature I really enjoy serving people. After Listening to the Fred factor I would agree I am a Fred. It humbles me to serve other people. As they say if you were focused on serving other people there is no Room for complaint.
Enjoy,
