Number one Amazon golf book best seller.
Lower your scores, increase enjoyment. Are you struggling to take your golf game to the next level? Learn the philosophy that has helped thousands of players worldwide lower their scores and improve their relationship with golf. Swing tips come and go, but foundational golf skills last forever.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced player, The Four Foundations of Golf will give you the blueprint to build a stronger, longer-lasting game. This is not your typical, fluffy golf guide that leaves all the important details out. Since 2015, Practical Golf has been one of the top online game-improvement resources for golfers. Jon Sherman has written hundreds of articles, sharing his perspective as a player-coach. You can finally get all of the methods he's used to become a scratch golfer and coach other golfers in one complete guide. Every golfer wants to know the secrets to golf. But they are always looking in the wrong places. There are four foundations to building a successful game—expectation management, strategy, practice, and a sharp mental game. In each of these sections, you will receive tangible and actionable advice. Finally, you will no longer have to feel like you are lost and alone in your golf game.
The Four Foundations will teach you how to be your own coach, and not waste time on methods that don't work. Stop listening to your friend's questionable tips and learn what all the greats have figured out. If you like detailed, straightforward information with plenty of examples, you will love this book. It will reshape how you think about golf entirely and give you the tools and strategies to transform your entire game.

Great information but can be a real slog to get through
I really enjoyed this book with a full spectrum of information. That said at times it’s a large amount of technical data which at times is heavy going. That said I feel as if I have learnt a lot and hope to put what I can to go use

Superb book
Many self help books I’ve read are stuffed full of anecdotes from people I’ve never heard of. Not this book. Straight to the point with good, practical advice on how you can improve your game.
I’m already on my second listen.
I’m looking forward to the gains.
Johns tone and delivery is excellent, perfect for the commute.
5 star.

Fantastic Body of Work
Big fan of Jon’s (& Adam Young) podcast and his calm and sensible advice to play better golf. I bought this book in paper back but found it much more digestible in Audio, maybe I’m just lazy! Jon validates a lot of common sense ideas you can easily overlook, E.g. take more club, aim centre green, default to driver etc. look forward to putting this into practice!

The best golf book I’ve ever read
Wonderful pace to the book - Jon presents a truly credible answer to the lost art of scoring and course management in golf. For those golfers chasing birdies lost in a sea of swing thoughts this book will clear the fog. I’ve been golfing for 40 years since the age of 8. I’ve had advice, lessons, read countless books and this (for me) is the best book I’ve encountered- I’m so glad the ‘secret’ is in plain sight! Good man Jon!

Wonderful book but hire an editor and actor
A great golf book for those who want to be data informed! Primary—and persistent—issue is the reading is amateurish and monotonous. Whole effort would have benefited from a good edit of prose style and a competent reading by an actor.

Invaluable
This is a great resource for anyone seeking meaningful golf improvement. It isn’t about fixing your swing, although it offers good advice on how to approach that goal. It’s more of a holistic approach to improving all aspects of your game.

I already improve
The book is great, I have been making my personal best last 3 rounds, and the most important I have been enjoying every shot even the bad ones. Sometimes it feels like the book could have been shorter, but the author make lot of emphasis in his analysis.

Great book for every golfer
Loved this book. I've played golf for years but never truly understood how to play the game strategically. I never played organized golf in school, so this book helped me so much to understand how to prepare for a round, how to approach each hole, how to practice, and create realistic expectations for my game.
Also, it had a number of other resources for my game that I have started reading as well.
the book or just full of so much advice. Great read. You won't be disappointed.
