Summary

A massive army on the brink of conquest looms large in a world where prophecies are lies, magic is believed in but never seen, and hope is where you least expect to find it.

Welcome to the Five Isles, where war has come in the name of the invading army of Sor Sevier, a merciless host driven by the prophetic fervor of the Angel Prince, Aeros, toward the last unconquered kingdom of Gul Kana. Yet Gault, one of the elite Knights Archaic of Sor Sevier, is growing disillusioned by the crusade he is at the vanguard of just as it embarks on his Lord Aeros' greatest triumph.

While the eldest son of the fallen king of Gul Kana now reigns in ever increasing paranoid isolationism, his two sisters seek their own paths. Jondralyn, the older sister, renowned for her beauty, only desires to prove her worth as a warrior, while Tala, the younger sister, has uncovered a secret that may not only destroy her family but the entire kingdom. Then there's Hawkwood, the assassin sent to kill Jondralyn who has instead fallen in love with her and trains her in his deadly art. All are led further into dangerous conspiracies within the court. And hidden at the edge of Gul Kana is Nail, the orphan taken by the enigmatic Shawcroft to the remote whaling village of Gallows Haven, a young man who may hold the link to the salvation of the entire Five Isles.

You may think you know this story, but everyone is not who they seem nor do they fit the roles you expect. Durfee has created an epic fantasy full of hope in a world based on lies.

good listen

there are some twists I didn't see coming, as with most long fantasy books keeping track of the characters threw me once or twice.

A great book

Was pleasantly surprised by this book I have seen the author on his channel on YouTube and thought I’d give it a go, love the diversity of the characters and how the paths your think your being led down leads you to a different conclusions. Can’t wait to read/listen to book two.

Epic Story

This series has been on my radar for a while, and I finally took the plunge, and damn Brian Lee Durfee did not disappoint with this bloody, intense cracking read.

The Forgetting Moon is the first book in The Five Warrior Angels trilogy. This is an excellent story with religious zealots in pursuit of destruction and pure annihilation, political intrigue, powerful magical weapons, and a dark and gripping tale from start to finish.

The Forgetting Moon was like a breath of fresh, I was so engrossed with the worldbuilding and plot, the characters are so complex and interesting, and there are plenty for you to love and loath with equal measure.

There are a few scenes that may not be for some readers where there are some very gruesome and graphic cruelty, which I absolutely love because it just adds to that depth of emotion and intensity where the author shows you that side of human depravity that is war.

In this excellent tale, War has come to the Five Isles. A merciless host driven by the Angel Prince, Aeros, has its sights on the unconquered kingdom of Gul Kana, bringing in a new age and death to all who worship Saint Laijon.

There is a prophecy of the Five Warrior Angels whose descendants will rise bearing five magical weapons and five angel stones as is told that will fight the darkness that will be unleashed on the Five Isles. Will the prophecy come true, or is it just a myth concocted by a religious order.

Read it and find out you won't be disappointed. If you love audiobooks, check out Tim Gerald Reynolds' narration. As usual, he is a master of his craft and just makes this story so much more epic. I very highly recommend...🗡🪓🛡🏹⚔️

What’s going on?

I didn’t like any of the characters and I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I’m usually better at this. Gave up at 60%.

impressive...

well actually it really starts dull and dumb, and then after a while it takes some anxious title, that are mostly welcome and, makes the whole book hard to set aside.

no ending

well there are no words to say how bad the end is, over 60 hrs of listening between books 1 and 2 and it suddenly ends with no conclusion or warning it just stops and book 3 is not available .
