About this listen
A dark in the mists
Evynsford and Preston. Two small towns that became the settings for some of the greatest mysteries the United Kingdom has ever seen. Inspector Arthur Eldermann and Sergeant Bartholomew Moore came face to face with darkness and had to battle with powers beyond their imagination in order to save these two small towns and save themselves.
A study in faith
When all hope seems lost, when evil is about to prevail, when darkness has covered the world, only faithful and courageous men can stand tall against the dark. Arthur Eldermann, a clergyman turned police inspector, and Constable Bartholomew Moore had to overcome their fears and seek the solution of the mysteries that put Evynsford and Preston in a spiral to hell. They tried to allow love into their lives, but darkness is so much stronger than love...or is it?
When good and evil are separated by a very thin line
Following the adventures of these two noble men, you will be able to uncover secret societies, chase terrifying and ruthless criminals, and find out if faith can overcome all obstacles. This Christian mysteries series contains five books, each covering a chapter of this spine-tingling adventure.
Sunset in the Mists: The Dark Draws the Curtain - Inspector Eldermann comes to Evynsford and discovers that something evil is hiding behind the closed curtains and shut windows. He meets Miss Hollferd and their love story starts to unfold.
Midnight in the Mists: The Dark Deepens - Inspector Eldermann returns to Evynsford for a mind-boggling mystery that uncovers a dark truth. His love for Miss Hollferd grows deeper, and he has to make all the right moves to keep her out of danger.
Dawn in the Mists: The Darkness Breaks - The third Arthur Eldermann adventure puts him up against the nefarious Society. Miss Hollferd is now his wife, and their love is put to the test.
Lost in the Mists - Bartholomew Moore picks up where the Inspector left and has to confront the most notorious and dangerous agent in the world while making sure his lovely wife Gwen is not in danger.
Found en the Mists - Sergeant Moore has to finish off the job. It will not be easy, since the city of Preston has become the battlefield of two criminal empires.

Ruined by the wrong choice of narrator
It is unfair perhaps to rate the story as a one star as I haven't finished it and am going to return it. I got half way through chapter 5 but only because I was listening to it whilst out on a walk.
1) Why oh why, choose an American to read a book set in Britain, with many regional accents throughout? Being Scots the Scottish accent grated unbearably but to be fair it wasn't quite the worst I've heard.
2) The narrator, Carol Weakland, had an irritating way of enloooongatinnnnnggg words. Day, a single syllable word, became daaayyyy, and I knew from the first minute I was going to have to return it.
3) When I heard words like 'holler' and 'barkeep' I knew the language had not been properly researched by the author. These things may not irritate a North American listener but it irks the British ear.
4) Condescension was read or written as condensation …
