Welcome to The Empire theatre

Very enjoyable, looking forward to the next one!
I loved reading the book and have equally enjoyed listening to Michael reading it and getting to know all his wonderful characters all over again.

A really good read
I really enjoyed this first book by Michael Ball. He had a real nack of inviting you into his story with brilliant rounded characters and not wasting time with 'infills'!
His narration was just outstanding and brought so much to the story. I really think a narrator can ruin the best of stories and have often been put off by a narrator who is too 'over the top'.
I am hoping Michael has another story in the making and will look forward to it with much anticipation. Well done Michael, it is a great book.

A wonderful and glamorous journey through the magical, creative world of the theatre, with an amazing cast of characters and a heartwarming story - read and performed magnificently by Michael- definitely worthy of a standing ovation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Magical!
What an uplifting book to read! Michael Ball’s love of the theatre and the experiences and characters he has encountered throughout his career really shine through the story. He has created a cast of characters who are vibrant and incredibly human with love and a great deal of humour. Michael’s portrayal of them all really makes them live long in the mind. Loved it and can’t wait for the next one.

Simply the best
This was by far the most entertaining book I have ever listened to on Audible! Michael Ball was fantastic with his narration with some incredible voices and all so believable. I can’t wait till the next book comes out!!

great storytelling
I loved this book right from the start.. listening to it narrated by Michael Ball,the author, he made it sound as if I was part and parcel of the story... couldn't stop listening to it!!!

Well I must say that was the kind of read where I didn’t want to stop listening.
Friends and family, who dropped in while I was engrossed, soon asked about the book title and narrator. I soon pointed them in the right direction. Can’t wait for more.
