About this listen

When life gives you lemons make lemonade. We have heard this saying time and time again. We are rarely taught how to make that delicious drink. Lemonade being one of the simplest drinks requiring three ingredients.

What do you make when life throws you a rambutan. Well I had never heard of a dragon fruit until about 10 years ago. I wouldn't know what to do with the peculiar looking fruit. Similarly most people have no clue what to do with their challenging life circumstances. So often people view their challenges similar to a walk path covered with prickly fruit. A nuisance attracting the attention of pests and insects. What if those life circumstances were actually lemons intended to make lemonade. More likely you've been thrown a fruit requiring more than water and sugar to make a sweet refreshment. The prickly rambutan is a sweet fruit with tropical floral tones requiring the shell to be cracked in order to enjoy the funny looking treat.

In this book I speak about my personal experiences that have translated into trainings to help me in every way. You will hear about some circumstances then how those circumstances prepared me for the work I do today. The work I do is at Juvenile Court working directly with youth, families often at a low point. I also work directly with professionals, attorneys and Judges. I'm also a Board of Education Member serving the children and families of a large public school district with complex needs. The reality of my life path came to me in the form of an old work desk.
