Summary
It starts with just one body - tortured, mummified and then discarded. Its discovery reveals a nightmare world of hidden lives. Of lost identities, secret rituals and brutal exploitation, where nobody can be trusted. This is the darkest, most complex case the police have ever seen. This is the world of the Crow Girl.

My god!
As a father of three young girls this was a very difficult book to listen too, but if we hide from subject matter like this it will never be stopped, it can never be understood how men can be like this!
Once I got over the shock of the graphic description and started to feel as "I" being a man am not guilty for these men but am in small part a victim of there actions
People can say killing them is too good for them and I would agree but the organisations that I'm sure exist that profit in this have there own place in hell
To fix this I have no clue, maybe one! Save the young
The in-depth description of one of the lead characters insanity is so well written, you feel insane, I commend the author for writing about and being as brutal as they were...
I'm glad I finished it but I would not listen again because the subject matter is so cutting! I truly got the fear of the dark
Well done!
Narrators delivery was really good and it must of been tough!

Relentless and outstanding.
Would you listen to The Crow Girl again? Why?
No, the point is made.
What other book might you compare The Crow Girl to, and why?
Everything is watered down after this book. Beware.
What does Gabrielle Glaisters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
To me, it was very important that it is a female reading this audible work. I don't know whether I could have continued had it been a male voice.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Recognition, recoil and rage, lots of rage.
Any additional comments?
Were is the next book in the trilogy, can only find in German?

Almost Missed a 5*
I almost didn't buy this title based on the disturbing subject matter and the length of the book.
The subject matter while disturbing in general is very well handled by this author in my opinion. It's there not in your face with unnecessary graphic detail but I felt it was more as background for a clever, intriguing and well woven story. Every time I "just knew" where it was going it took a path I hadn't thought of and for me that's a good book.

Have some cute kitten vids to recover!
Excellent story if a bit dark. Details and descriptions are not given but alluded to in such a gruesome way your imagination fills in the blanks in the worst possible way. The 3 original books are combined in this version so you may feel it is a little long but, on the other hand, I was sad to say goodbye to the characters.

Good story, but not for the faint-hearted
I enjoyed this book, but there were a couple of negatives. I wondered several times whether it was ever going to end. It is very convoluted and there are so many characters that it is difficult to keep track of who everybody is - or isn't! Worth sticking with it, though if you re prepared to keep hitting the rewind button.

Very good
Where does The Crow Girl rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Tough subject but handled well for a fictional work. Great listen with plot twists galore. Just when I thought I had the story mostly figured out, along came another twist, then another. Great stuff.
Have you listened to any of Gabrielle Glaisters’s other performances? How does this one compare?
First time I've heard the reader but a great voice for audio books. Very well read and very clear speaking. Great inflections and superb interpretation of the written word. Would be more than happy to listen to other audio books read by Gabrielle.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. Due to the length.

DNF
I was listening to the audioversion of this book. I've gotten about 8 hours in and had to give up.
I'm not sure if it was a lack of attention on my part with it being audio and not a proper book, although I've never had an issue with them before, but I just could not follow what was going on anymore.
It was constantly jumping back and forth between characters and time periods until the point that i was confusing one character with another.
So sadly this one will go down as DNF.

Harrowing yet life-affirming
The material covered by the book, abuse of the worst kind and its aftermath is handled in a non-hysterical way.
The story can be hard to stick with but it's a story that feels real and carries clear warnings to society.

RELENTLESS UNNECESSARY VIOLENCE
This book is violent in the extreme and contains more pedaphilia than any book warrants - and it's all unnecessary. It could have done with a brave editor to cut the repititious violence and tawdry sex scenes which will disgust many. There is a story in there somewhere but it is well hidden. The Observer described it as 'The most disturbing book you'll read all year,' I couldn't agree more, I had to cease listening just over half way through. My life is too short.
