So here’s the plan: Kill the demon, steal the treasure, and retire to a life of luxury! It sounds easy when put like that. However, most unfortunately for warrior-priest Egil and sneak thief Nix, when the demon they kill turns out to have worshippers in high places, retirement is not an option. Summary
A thrilling new Victorian-era urban fantasy for fans of Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles, the Showtime series Penny Dreadful, and the Sherlock Holmes movies featuring Robert Downey, Jr.
The Crown and Key Society face their most terrifying villain yet: Gaios, a deranged demigod with the power to destroy Britain.
To avenge a centuries-old betrayal, Gaios is hell-bent on summoning the elemental forces of the Earth to level London and bury Britain. The Crown and Key Society, a secret league consisting of a magician, an alchemist, and a monster hunter, is the realm's only hope - and to stop Gaios, they must gather their full strength and come together as a team, or the world will fall apart.
But Simon Archer, the Crown and Key's leader and the last living magician-scribe, has lost his powers. As Gaios searches for the Stone of Scone, which will give him destructive dominion over the land, monster-hunter Malcolm MacFarlane, alchemist extraordinaire Kate Anstruther, gadget geek Penny Carter, and Charlotte the werewolf scramble to reconnect Simon to his magic before the world as they know it is left forever in ruins.

great finish to trilogy
the 3rd book in the series sees our heroes come to grips with their two major foes Gains and the elusive Ash.
It's a bit of a roller coaster of non stop action. However, there is still a lot of characterization in the book, especially between Malcolm and Imogene & Charlotte.
The attempts to get Simon his powers back and Kate also attempting to cure Imogene added a certain amount of suspense.
Overall I enjoyed the series a lot and hope for more.

To sad, The end, Need more - Great series
This was a fast-paced, action-filled dark fantasy that is just sheer fun to read. All that you love about the first novels is here with a little twist. You should read the books in order. This series is a continuation of one story solving one crime. There are Werewolves, mad science, and plenty of smiting. There are bad ass women with brilliant minds, a frailty of heart and soul and the protectiveness of a mother bear.
New friendships are forged and old ones that are ripped apart. Of course one of the best is the steampunk gadgets and the different magics in this Victoria era. Some times it gets a little tired with everyone willing to die on their sword to save a comrade, lover, or for king and country.
What makes a hero a little more human, the lost of a love one. So while evil is being vanquished we do lose some or they are maimed. But this is still a great team who is committed to fight the fight to save England.
The action is just as fast, furious, and in abundance as the first two. Griffith and Griffith add creative to fight scenes. Yes you know how the alchemist, techie, werewolf, elemental and mage will fight but it does vary from book to book.
My suggestion, read it, love it, and read it again!
