My LO loved this, kept her occupied on a couple of long journey. She’s too young to be able to read a book like this herself but described how she imagined all the characters and was totally immersed in the story.

Perfect bedtime companion with new narration
We bought this as our son struggles to sleep at night without some background noise. It was a perfect combination of epic length (~15hrs) and being child friendly and it's become a happy night time companion for him.
The length means that he rarely hears the same part twice and the little adventures the children go on are very wholesome as you might expect for an Enid Blyton collection.
The dramatic improvement in this has been the new narration by Abigail Hardiman, which was uploaded a couple of weeks ago (late October 2021).
The previous narration was ok but it was relatively stern and firm storytelling. It sounded like a narrator who either hadn't quite grasped the target audience or didn't really want the narration gig in the first place.
The new narration is lovely. It is calm, warm and comforting - exactly the sort of style I think these stories deserve. Big thanks to the publisher for recognising it needed a tweak and paying to get it done.
They also cleverly removed the intro music which previously was a bit of a trigger to our son that it was story time so he'd perk up rather than remaining drowsy. The lack of intro music means it's much more subtle when you put it on. I imagine this would also be a huge side benefit for anyone with children that react badly to surprise noises.
Highly recommended and given so many children's books on Audible sting you for a credit for 50 minutes or less, this is an absolute bargain for the same credit and 20x the content length.
