Summary
Renowned for his hugely popular narration of the King James Bible, Christopher Glyn now brings his considerable inspirational talents to a unique new audiobook of the complete Catholic Bible. And it’s not just Christopher’s voice that will be familiar to listeners - because this recording comprises his complete reading of KJV with the addition of the deuterocanonical books of Tobit, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom (Ecclesiasticus), Sirach and Baruch, as well as additions to the books of Esther and Daniel to make the original full complement of 77 books.
For those who aren’t familiar with the distinction, the additional works are those recognised by the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches as being part of scripture. Protestants, on the other hand, do not regard them as being divinely inspired, but do recognise them as important books to read.
Who better, then, to bring all these words of God to life than Christopher Glyn! Drawing on a 35-year career as a Christian broadcaster and narrator, he delivers these stories in a uniquely expressive style that is filled with wonder at the beauty and power of God’s Word, yet which is clear, natural and easy to understand.

Bible chapters by guessing.
This is really ridiculous, the author must have assumed the best way to get to say John is by guessing and jumping through the chapter. No attempt made to title the book, chapters less even verses he is reading. Are we supposed to make up for this important part with his dramatisation!!!!

Not the Catholic Bible.
This is KJV, NOT the Catholic Bible. I was looking for the actual Catholic Bible on audio, and this is not it. Can I have my credit back?

NOT the Catholic Bible
I was fooled by the words Catholic Bible. The Catholic Bible is NOT a King James Bible. The Catholic Bible has 7 more books.

Misleading Book
The King James Version is not the translation used by any of the rites of the Catholic Church. This is a misleading product. The Church does not recognize this translation.

Lovely sound, smooth, just wish I knew where I was
I love hearing the bible. I read it and I like to hear it read to me when I'm stressed, going to bed, and to help my little guy when he's stressed. The performer's voice is soothing. However, if I want to find a specific book of the Bible I cannot. Nothing is lsbled, there is no sense to it. I can't get to the old testament or my favorite book by scrolling through the insane amount of chapter numbers without overwhelming my device and craving the audible app. Please fix this. I really desire a decent Catholic Bible and there just are no good choices on audible :(

This is a literally a Catholic Bible.
You only show your ignorance by rating this beautiful piece of work with your one stars. I was actually looking for a NRSV Catholic Bible, but I was shocked to see these reviews. So I pulled the trigger and I am happy I did so. I have always loved the language of the KJV so I’m happy to see they have all of the deuterocanonical books in here, which is what makes a Catholic Bible a Catholic Bible. I have no idea who helped guide this particular translation but there is a multitude of Catholic Bibles. I encourage any and all to read outside of the New American, we hear that in 99% of our Liturgies. Go outside your lane sometimes, there is much to be learned. Experience the true fullness of The Faith. Keep it fresh, stay eager to learn, take any opportunity to study scripture.
God bless.

No Chapter Titles - Too Much Bass
First thing I noticed was an overwhelming number of chapters with no titles making it difficult to locate desired books. The second issue is the audio has too much bass making it difficult to hear the natural higher tones of the narrator’s voice. This results in a muffled sounding output. This is no fault of the reader but more due to poor equalization of the audio. Christopher Glyn is one of my favorite narrator’s but this recording does him no justice.

Excellent Catholic audio Bible.
This is an excellent audio Bible, containing all the canonical books as defined at Trent, very well narrated with easy navigation between chapters. With respect to the negative reviews, yes, it is the King James Version. But there is no prohibition on Catholics reading the KJV, which is for the most part a fine translation. True, many Protestants read the KJV, but that does not make it a "Protestant Bible" (as if our scriptures were different). The biggest problem with most KJV Bibles is that they are missing books, but this one, as accurately described in the product description, is not. No, it's not the same translation as the lectionary, but that is no mark against it. In fact, unless you are going to read the original Hebrew and Greek, it is better to jump around between different quality translations, since no single translation will fully capture the sense of the original text. This audio Bible is great way to grow in one's familiarity with the Word.

Exceptional
Narrator is outstanding. There’s no notes, music, mispronunciations…all things that mar audio bibles in my estimation. This is plain, unadorned reading if the Catholic kjv. The narrator’s accent elevates his exceptional cadence and elocution to re deer a thoroughly intelligent, enjoyable, and exceptional listening experience. Thank you to whomever produced this in this manner.

KJV Apocrypha/Deuterocanonical books
This is the KJV Apocrypha/Deuterocanonical books. While I understand some of the complaints that is not an official Catholic Bible, it’s good nevertheless. It’s real delight to listen to sacred scripture. It’s better than the NABRE, RSV-CE, ESV-CE, NRSV-CE and the NJB.
Perhaps, the title should of been more clear by simply saying “KJV with Apocrypha/Deuterocanonical books”. The simple fact it’s a complete Bible and is God’s word makes it Catholic.
