Summary

New York Times best seller!

Over 5 million copies sold!

Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Former atheist and Chicago Tribune journalist Lee Strobel takes an investigative look at the evidence from the fields of science, philosophy, and history. In this revised and updated bestseller, The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions - and building a captivating case for Christ's divinity.

Strobel asks challenging questions like:

  • How reliable is the New Testament?
  • Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible?
  • Is Jesus who he said he was?
  • Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?

Winner of the Gold Medallion Book Award and twice nominated for the Christian Book of the Year Award, Strobel's tough, point-blank questions read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure.

This edition includes scores of revisions and additions, including updated material on archaeological and manuscript discoveries, fresh recommendations for further study, and an interview with the author that tells dramatic stories about the book's impact, provides behind-the-scenes information, and responds to critiques of the book by skeptics.

Also available: The Case for Christ Spanish edition, kids' edition, and student edition.

This book is a blockbuster bestseller for a reason

Faith is such a powerful, amazing and blessed gift from God but just having faith isn’t enough for me. I’m hungry and thirsty for more and stronger faith. Faith is like fuel. Faith energizes you. It makes you feel so good. The good news is that all Christians can increase and strengthen their faith through prayer (I.e., by asking God to strengthen their faith) and through research that involves scholarly written works. By the way, these written works are also a gift from God because God inspired those who wrote those “faith building” books. “The Case For Christ” is one such book. It is a very powerful “faith builder.” If you are already a person of faith this book will help to strengthen your faith. If you lack faith this book will inspire you and lead you to the Holy Spirit who can grant you the gift of faith - the most important, precious, and valuable gift that you will ever receive other than the eternal salvation that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ won for you by his sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Happy reading.

surprisingly good

This is a bit different from the movie. In the movie Strobal is a Dawkins type of guy and gets convinced by asking experts things. The original book feels different. Strobal wants to convince the reader rather than convince himself. Most experts here are well meaning but it still boils down to theology and fantasy. Tho atheists like Bart Ehrman also want to convince their devotees. The scientific parts, like the way archeology has confirmed some parts in Luke is something you never hear in mass media and even on YouTube propaganda videos, and was gripping. Even the Appolonius of Tier character who sceptics like to compare to Jesus was debunked by one expert. Overall I was surprised by some of the content in here.
