When hundreds of birds fall from the sky into Slayton's lake in a terrifying freak event, the waters are dredged - revealing a dark, long-held secret.

An old pram is pulled from the depths, with the bones of a baby still strapped inside.

It's the moment that new mother, Cora, has been dreading since she moved to Slayton - because someone knows, and is going to make her pay.

With the help of forensic anthropologist Sophia Hudson, and the extraordinary young Elliott Carter, Detective Sarah Noble gets to the bottom of a cold case that refuses to stay in the past. Will she survive the secrets of the bone house?

Perfect for fans of Cara Hunter, Alex North and Stephen King.

I was SO involved in this story. Would Cora loose her beautiful baby girl? Would the 3 friends be split by such a dreadful set of events?
It was hard to listen to in some parts as I was too invested in their well-being...

Terrifying

Detective Sarah Noble once again finds herself investigating a mystery that as previously in the town of Slayton seems to have a sinister and creepy undercurrent.
When an old pram containing the bones of a baby is pulled from Slayton’s lake a cold case is dragged into the limelight, can Detective Noble solve the mystery before more innocent lives are lost?
I love a good detective story and even more so if it has a supernatural element to it, this book ticks all the boxes for me.

The narration is fantastic and really helps bring the characters to life.

Thank goodness I don't live in Slayton. I mean even the name would put anyone with a shred of common sense off! But this is my third visit and this time DS Sarah Noble is called out when a pram and a babies remains are pulled from a lake. The storyline is intriguing and very creepy - a mix of supernatural and police procedural.. I love the character of Sarah, who comes across as very compassionate, and someone I'd love to have as a friend (but not in Slayton obviously!!)

The book is narrated by Emma Gregory and Adam Price, who do a great job.

Third book in a creepy series

The Bone house was a genre that I don’t usually read, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It was well written and executed and I was particularly pleased that I couldn’t guess how it would conclude.

The Bone House was a great discovery.

Hope there’s more to come from Slayton!
Really enjoy a good detective series and this one stands out with the supernatural element also which has had me hooked from the first in the series; the midnight man.
Another great story that I couldn’t turn off.

This is a fabulous listen , the Author and narrators have made this a real gem, Emma Gregory and Adam Price have come together to read us this amazing work of art.
Adam Price made his character absolutely delve into the depths of nastiness his voice being a perfect fit. Emma Gregory used her skills to voice many characters Bravo to both of you !
I had quite a few moments where i almost cacked myself having been listening into the dark creeping hours and not realizing just how dark it was until I HAD to put the light on.
A brilliant story line , the voices added to the scene setting ,a maze of manic moments another massive hit from Caroline Mitchell
I read this as an e-book but found it so much more exciting as an audiobook.

This listen is so so creepy😱
