Summary

When Avery Shaw’s heart is shattered by her life-long best friend, she chooses to deal with it the only way she knows how - scientifically.

The state science fair is coming up, and Avery decides to use her broken heart as the topic of her experiment. She’s going to find the cure. By forcing herself to experience the seven stages of grief through a series of social tests, she believes she will be able to get over Aiden Kennedy and make herself ready to love again. But she can’t do this experiment alone, and her partner (ex partner!) is the one who broke her heart.

Avery finds the solution to her troubles in the form of Aiden’s older brother Grayson. The gorgeous womanizer is about to be kicked off the school basketball team for failing physics. He’s in need of a good tutor and some serious extra credit. But when Avery recruits the lovable Grayson to be her “objective outside observer”, she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for, because Grayson has a theory of his own: Avery doesn’t need to grieve. She needs to live. And if there’s one thing Grayson Kennedy is good at, it’s living life to the fullest.

The Experiment

I enjoyed the heck out of this book it was light-hearted but also had the emotional stuff I am coming to really enjoy from Kelly.

I am not always a fan of YA because there is usually unnecessary dramalama but the way she writes her YA she gives us the real and the drama but in a real way.

This was a sweet book of lost love and finding love. I felt for all the characters and I was happy with the way it ended.

Off to the next book in the Science Squad.

The narration was perfect for this book. Sarah has the perfect voice for a teen/young adult and Teddy well he is Teddy and his voice I adore.

Not what expected

I typically don’t read/listen to young adult books. I went through high school and didn’t care to relive it. However, I loved this book. It was cute, funny and at times a little sad. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Highly recommend

Cute and Sweet

I read this book a few years back and was happy it finally came out on audiobook. The story was still as sweet as I remembered and it's nice to have a clean storyline. I was a little disappointed in the narrator chosen for Avery. Sarah McEwan did okay, but it was hard to differentiate between characters during dialogue. Teddy Hamilton was, well, Teddy Hamilton! You can't go wrong with him. He really made Grayson come alive!

Overall, a decent audiobook.

Tried this on a whim and enjoyed it tremendously.

So because I had a 4 hour car ride looming and no time to pick a listen I decided to just go with a freebie and try someone new. What a great surprise. The characters were absolutely enjoyable. The humor was easy, not forced. The plot engaging and the readers spot on. I’m actually going to buy this little read so I can enjoy it again. It was a fun drive for sure.

Very cute of love story

I really liked this story it was cute and interesting and a change from most stories about teens. This one focuses on a teen girl(17) who has had a lifelong friendship/crush on her male friend. When he decides to explore another relationship she is crushed. What makes this different is the female lead has a serious mental illness that deals with extreme anxiety as a social anxiety disorder. What I really liked is the acceptance not only from her friends but also the popular girls and how they work with her and the brother of her best friend to work thru her broken heart. It was nice for a change. I liked the entire story. It is quite pg so listen with that in mind but it is a worthy listen

Darling Story!

Young love! Teenagers, sure, but the way they try to work through their problems, is a process I’ve never read before. Cute & captivating. AND funny!!

Cute YA romance

I should have read the description better but I saw Teddy Hamilton and just one clicked! Anyway, this was a very cute high school romance. (Which, I think i'm a bit too old for but hey, I guess sometimes I still enjoy the boppy sweet romances!) Avery Shaw is heart broken because her best friend Aiden dumped her- she's had a crush on him for forever and he's just not into her in that way. It was kind of an odd relationship, a bit codependent, in fact. In steps Grayson, Aiden's big brother. He also likes Avery and he needs her help to get his science grade up but also, he wants to help her get over Aiden. They have the opportunity to participate in the science fair and decide on a social experiment to help Avery Shaw get over her heart break. It's like no science experiment i've ever thought of but I guess as someone in the hard sciences, I have a bias towards soft sciences :D

Seriously adorable although some moments where I cringed because of overdone teenage angst. Teddy Hamilton and Sarah McEwan were both great and fun to listen to and I overall enjoyed the audiobook.

Cute but has she ever been to Spanish fork?

I grew up in Spanish Fork, UT and my family is all still there. I originally loved that this was staged there, however, after hearing this book I don’t believe the author knows the kids from that area because one guy might be making out with a bunch of girls, I can pretty much guarantee there is not a “whole school of girls” he’s done more than that with. I would have been cool with him making out but it definitely made it sound like much more was going on and that disappoints me. Plus, it totally misrepresents that area.
As far as the rest goes, it was cute and it made you like the Characters you were suppose to like.

Loved it!

Young love 💗 💕 All the angst, trials and tribulations associated with it plus a touch of humor made this a nice and lighthearted story.

The narrators did a great job bringing these young characters to life.

Recommended audiobook! 👍
