Simply one of the best books ever

Perfect narrator, my favourite ever. Brilliant book, inspirational and covers all the important stuff - and also dips it's toe into many different philosophies that I have found the most useful and virtuous in life.

Epic poems, stories, letters, songs, excerpts... Its all here. This book is essentially now my bible and I've listened many times over to reinforce the ideals within

Terrible narration of a list of old quotes

First review I have written.

This is not book that should be in audio book format. There is some good content here as the book is entirely made up of quotes from past historical figures share their musings on manhood and the attributes related to it.

The audio format doesn't really flow well jumping from one quote straight to another. This would be a perfect coffee table book(or toilet book), which is ironic because the authors say they don't want the book to become something you pick up now and then and read sporadically. Although, it does seem to be written as a coffee table book format where you pick it up look at the section you are interested in read a few quotes and come back several days later.

The narration is really bad in this the narrator has no idea how to use inflection or pacing when reading and his voice is so monotone you don't know when something important has been said. The guy does have a good voice but no skill as a narrator. I would not be surprised if this is the authors friend they have asked to read it for cheap. I tried to stick with it but after a while all you can focus on its the bad narration and its hard to take in the content.

I would buy an actual paper copy of the book and book and keep it by the toilet or on the coffee table.
