Summary
The Animal Dialogues tells of Craig Childs' own chilling experiences among the grizzlies of the Arctic, sharks off the coast of British Columbia and in the turquoise waters of Central America, jaguars in the bush of northern Mexico, mountain lions, elk, Bighorn Sheep, and others. More than chilling, however, these stories are lyrical, enchanting, and reach beyond what one commonly assumes an "animal story" is or should be. The Animal Dialogues is a book about another world that exists alongside our own, an entire realm of languages and interactions that humans rarely get the chance to witness.

detailed and unusual descriptions of animals
the author often uses unusual language in providing detailed decriptions of his encounters with animals. It's not a casual listen.. In fact, I purchased the kindle e-book to get the most out of it. it's worth it if you are interested in animals and human-animal interactions. he goes beyond the usual superficial descriptions.

LOVED this book!
Learned so much and loved the author’s poetic descriptions of the animals and their surroundings. Found the narrator a little monotone at times, but not distracting. Highly recommend for lovers of nature .

great for animal and nature lovers
A series of stories of true animal encounters of all shapes and sizes. Not stories of attacks or close calls, but true encounters, interactions, ponderings. And even more so about being a part of and at one with nature.

electric story telling
Enter the world of animals. Respect for their beingness and nowness is paramount. It's an important state of being that the author has mastered. A place we should all be more familiar with.

Fascinating, beautifully written
This audio book was an absolute pleasure. The many stories Craig tells reveal the inner lives of some of Earth’s most fascinating creatures and the author’s experiences with them. If you love learning about the intricate details of animals’ lives and are drawn to exquisite, indeed brilliant, writing this book will prove to be one of the greatest gifts you ever bestow on yourself.

Fine Stories Brilliantly Voiced
You will listen to Craig Childs beautifully told stories about encounters with animals in the wild again and again. His voice creates the scenes vividly and his language and imagery are flawless and almost poetic in their structure. Each story delivers both awareness and adventure in the telling as well as a romp through fine writing with word choice and sentence structure that is unusual in literature today. You will want to read Child's The Way Out to learn more about the writer himself and his profound love for experience in the wild.
