"The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge" is a unique entry in Arthur Conan Doyle’s oeuvre, being that it’s one of the rare Holmes stories in which the exalted gumshoe showers praise upon a fellow colleague, Inspector Baynes, whom he considers his equal in this riveting mystery about the grisly death by bludgeoning of the Spaniard Aloysius Garcia at his titular abode.
David Timson imbues both Holmes and Baynes with a trenchant wit and astuteness, and his urgent and impassioned delivery of his labyrinthine mystery makes this audiobook nothing short of compelling.
