Summary
We know there are certain things we must have to survive - food, shelter, and safety to name a few. But there are also aspects of life that truly allow us to be joyful and fulfilled. For popular podcaster and bestselling author Annie F. Downs, fun is close to the top of that list. Few would argue that having fun doesn't enrich our lives, but so much gets in the way of prioritizing it. Tough days, busyness, and feelings that are hard to talk about keep us from the fun that's out there waiting to be found.
With That Sounds Fun, Annie offers an irresistible invitation to understand the meaning of fun, to embrace it and chase it, and to figure out what, exactly, sounds fun to you - then do it! Exploring some research and sharing some thoughts behind why fun matters, she shows you how to find, experience, and multiply your fun. With her signature storytelling style and whimsical vulnerability, Annie is the friend we all need to guide us back to staying true to ourselves and finding the fun we need.

The perfect balance
Annie strikes the perfect balance of meaningful and fun, are we surprised? With each chapter she builds on truth and her wisdom and joy dig deeper and deeper. I found myself giggling and nodding my head in agreement at points while one chapter made me ugly cry in the best most healing way. Read this book, you’ll be glad you did.

Savor this!
The main takeaway that I got from this book was to SAVOR the moments that you are in. Take everything in and let it sink into your heart and transform your mind. Life is what we make it, so MAKE IT FUN!

Woke. Disappointed.
I was excited to listen to this book, however I quickly found the author caters to the Apologetic culture and not true Christianity. It’s sad we feel like we have to apologize for everything and explain our self to a degree that is honestly degrading. This my first book review and I’ve read/l listened to so SO MANY Christian authors. This is not authentic.

Didn’t Realize How Much I Would Enjoy
I listen to the That Sounds Fun Podcast so I wasn’t sure I would get much “new” out of this book. Boy, was I wrong! I loved getting to know more about Annie and especially embracing my amateur qualities!

Annie knocks it out of the park again. I laughed with her and bawled my way through other parts. Thank you for restoring lost hope, Annie. Listening to you is so fun (and healing)!

Love, love, love!
I just love Annie! I've listened to her podcast for a few years now and read a couple of her books and this one definitely did not disappoint! It's actually my favorite of her books I've read so far. At times I felt like she was putting to words exactly how I feel. It was comforting, relatable and uplifting all in one. A must read or listen!
