Summary
From the best-selling author of Between You and Me. Don't miss Lisa Hall's new gripping thriller.
Don't. Trust. Anyone.
It was supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to forget the past and embrace the future. But can you ever really start again? Or does the past follow you wherever you go?
Critic reviews
"What a page turner! Compelling, chilling and an incredibly impressive debut." (Alexandra Brown)
"It's certainly one of the best debuts I have read in a while, it's compelling and shocking, and very cleverly crafted." (The Book Review Café)
"Hall packs a punch with this one and the ending left me gasping." (For the Love of Books)
"It is disturbing and chilling. It feels very real. And a quick mention for that twist! I did not see that coming at all. I usually spot these things and I didn't! Clever! Very clever!" (Northern Crime Reviews)
"Between You and Me is that kind of book. The one that makes you feel like you're there, you're experiencing the emotions, the hurt, the pain." (Bibliophile Book Club)
"Lisa Hall has wrote a harrowing, disturbing and chilling novel which I couldn't help but devour in a matter of days. She's one of those authors you don't see coming and bang best seller, up there with the greatest crime writers like Stuart McBride and Lee Child. She's one to watch." (Brunette Lifestyle)
"It is well written, emotional and jaw dropping. More please!!" [Jo Robertson, (NetGalley)]

Better than The Girl on the Train
I loved this book! What a story and what a couple of nasty bitches Lila and Jasmine are! I was tearing my hair out for Steph by the end! Mark is a typical stupid man and the only think I didn't like was his Scottish accent but doesn't take away from what a wonderful and gripping story this is! I loved it!

Poor ending
Overall this book had great potential but sadly the ending was disappointing, as it really had no firm conclusion. I have listen to at least one book a week, this was not up there with the best.

why didn’t she get a ring doorbell
why didn’t she change the locks
why didn’t she get some small hidden cameras

Painfully predictable
This book was painful to read. It was obvious early on who the stalker was to the point I was convinced it was a red herring and there would be a twist so I kept reassign. There wasn’t. It was slow with very little sympathy for the main character who did everything she could to make it easy for the stalker to the point she helped them. The supporting characters were very stereotypical and lots of “I have something important to tell you” and “oh I can’t right now” which could have led to this book being tied up much quicker which would have been a blessing.

Most unsatisfying ending ever
I quite enjoyed the book and the end is better than the beginning. But I hope there is a follow up as this has the most frustrating ending ever.

Very predictable
I enjoyed this book, up to a point, but it was ruined for me by a previous reviewer who spoiled it by revealing a key part of the plot. I really wish people wouldn’t do this! The plot was ok, but rather predictable. I spotted the inevitable twist when I was quarter of the way through ( aided by the unhelpful spoiler). However the performance by Penelope Rawlings was spectacular. I think I enjoyed the book more than I would have if it had been narrated by someone else. She is fabulous. An average book brilliantly narrated.
