About this listen
Sarah Templeton is an English Accredited Counsellor, CBT Therapist and ADHD Coach who has specialised in ADHD since her own shock diagnosis at the age of 51. She owns and runs the biggest team of ADHD diagnosed Counsellors and Coaches in the UK—Headstuff ADHD Therapy.
Her first book, How Not to Murder Your ADHD Kid—Instead, Learn How to be Your Child’s Own ADHD Coach, resonated with mums and dads who, desperate for teachers to understand their children’s ADHD brains, started thrusting copies at schools! Those same parents encouraged Sarah to write this book for teaching professionals.
Sarah understands only too well how big a part teachers and schools play in helping children get the best and right start in life. She spent 11 years in the English education system, yet nobody identified her moderate-to-severe ADHD, severe dyspraxia, dyscalculia, or sensory processing disorder, meaning she failed her 12+ "spectacularly" and spent four wasted years at a secondary school she shouldn’t have been at.
Sarah is now passionate about helping teachers identify and work with these conditions in the classroom.
Children who are not diagnosed and treated for their neurodiverse conditions often have a dismal time at school: They know they feel different and don’t fit in, but they don’t understand why. This can lead them to experiment with drugs or alcohol and stumble so easily into a life of addiction, unemployment, homelessness or crime.
In this book, Sarah shares her insider knowledge of how ADHD kids’ brains really work. She will help you understand their thoughts, actions and behaviours and give you the very best ways of managing ADHD in the classroom, ensuring these kids go on to be the leaders and winners they were born to be.

Enjoyable to read and helpful on many levels.
I was delighted this was released on audio, as despite enjoying the hard copy, my ADHD and dyslexia meant I was not getting through it.
It is brilliant that Sarah narrates it herself. Even though it is not a storybook, Sarah's vulnerable personal sharing makes it more engaging than a "how-to" manual. I easily finished it in 3 days after carrying the book around for weeks.
I plan to go through it again at a slower pace to develop my 'to-do list', as there are many simple, easy-to-implement suggestions I am keen to take advantage of.

My go-to guide for help tackling behaviour
Thank you so much Sarah for writing this book and getting it onto Audible too! I’ve had the paperback for a while but being ADHD myself, I just haven’t gotten around to reading more than a couple of pages - the Audible I finished within a week and can now go back over the book to the most relevant sections.
It cuts through all the jargon and has great tips and practical advice. It’s easily accessible and engaging and I’d recommend it to any parents, teachers or carers of any child with ADHD to better understand what they’re going through. A brilliant toolkit for many of the scenarios we face every week!
