This is a sweet romance
This was a nice story, perfect for simple listening. The story did not have me riveted but was nice and gentle. There is definitely a place for this kind of story in everyone’s library.

Lovely and heartwarming. Family friendly stories.
Story 1 The Light at the end of the Tunnel
This is a lovely, heartwarming story. Thomas and Hannah's relationship from friendship to love was as sweet as the hot chocolate she sells in her shop. I loved that the story also came with a recipe for hot chocolate.
2 Leave or Perish
A humorous story. Jonathon decides to get Serentie's attention by taking her literacy classes. Unfortunately, he listens to her brother's bad advice leading to a few humorous scenes. There is also a young gang of thieves terrorising the valley which add some excitement and suspense.
3 A Broom in her Hand
William and Laura's story with the theme of women's rights. A dangerous and ruthless gang of thieves arrive when a Revival Meeting is on and the town is busy.
4 Deception
A charming story where Peter and Pauline fall in love as penpals however Peter has a confession to make and Pauline is in trouble as the bank has fraudulently called in her mortgage debt.
5 A Cry for Help
Mary and Joshua are childhood friends reunited and fall in love while helping a runaway slave to escape.
These stories are short and charming. The narrator does a great job and I enjoyed her performance.
I liked listening to the author's notes at the end of each story detailing the historical facts that inspired it as well as her personal connection as the characters are based on actual ancestor's of the author. What an amazing family tree she has!
A copy was provided by the author and this is my voluntary and unbiased opinion.
