Summary

Cindy Wakowski a.k.a. Red Riding Hood is the second-most feared villain in Falconcrest City. Unfortunately, she soon discovers that is only because she's considered Merciless: The Supervillainy without Mercy™'s favorite henchwoman. Determined to prove herself every bit her boyfriend's equal, if not superior, Cindy assembles a team of other villains to go after the largest treasure trove in the world: the hoard of the Dragon King.

Unfortunately, things start going sideways from the start. An ex-boyfriend of hers turned eldritch horror wants revenge, other villains don't want anything to do with her plan, and the Foundation for World Harmony has put out a death warrant on her head. Merciless has also decided to engage in a little friendly competition that Cindy wants nothing to do with. Can she steal slay the dragon and claim its treasure? Will she let her ego and impatience get in the way? Also, who is Red Sindi and what relationship does she have with our antiheroine?

Tales of Supervillainy: Cindy's Seven is the eighth novel of the best-selling Supervillainy Saga series and the first from the perspective of its most popular supporting character!

“Who could have possibly predicted this lazy bit of storytelling?”

I always love Charles’ books and this is no exception. Excellent characters and story and overflowing with snark and paced-paced wit.
Dual narration isn’t my favourite, but Heather and Jeffrey do a great job and I especially love the blooper real addition at the end! More books should have this!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Cindy is no longer a henchwench

Original review from book release

So Cindy wants to be the star of her own story and makes it so. The story is split into two halves, forming the team and the heist.

This being the Supervillainy Saga and especially Cindy, nothing is ever straightforward. Her team is a mix of familiar faces along with a new villain who is Cindy’s henchwench. With a massive ensemble cast and the authors typical style of writing, the book is dialogue and pop culture reference heavy. This time D&D and anything remotely related to dragons is seen as fair game.

The way the characters constantly sidetrack each other can be a bit disorientating. I do think it gives you an idea of how some of the side characters feel when having to deal with Cindy and Gary. I did have moments of “Wait, what?”

This is a great story, and I think will be even better as audio, because of the amount of dialogue and Cindy’s continual inner monologue as well. Heaven help the narrators.

Audible review for performance

As predicted the narrators had their work cut out but did a great job. With books that are dialogue heavy like these the audio version brings everything to life. Well done Heather and Jeffery.

Just as good as the rest. Maybe better!

So, this is hands down my favorite series from CT Phipps, and this installment doesn't disappoint. I'm a huge Harley Quinn fan, especially the animated series. Kaley Cuoco was born to voice harley. So now we focus on the Harley Quinn-esque character in the Supervillainy series, which is just the cherry on top of a super sunday.
Cindy is tired of being known as nothing but a sidekick, or even worse, henchwench, and sets out to prove she's a grade-A supervillain in her own right, so she puts together a crew to Ocean's Seven, or six or eight depending on how you want to count--hey, counting is for nerds--not just a dragon's hoarde but THE dragon's horde.
Given Cindy's managerial skills are about as fine-tuned as her parenting skills, hilarity ensues. Absolutely check it and the other books in the series out today!

very much like someone describing their d&d game

I love this series; seeing the world through Cindy's eyes is incredible. I'm always brought back to a line in the early books that "Cindy is a broken woman" and hearing her try to navigate that with her feelings while at the same time dragging as many people into her poorly thought-out plan is hilarious. See above about a d&d game. And my players certainly do hit as many puns and movie/book references as they can. So I've wanted to drop a dragon on them more than once.

And speaking of references. Honestly, I can't think of a single reference that was missed. I don't even want to call them out here because it's more fun to see the characters call them out.

Very Funny Quipping Super Heroes

A super funny critique of current culture in the guise of super heroes quipping about life and their quest to defend others in a sinful city.

Endnote: If you are an audiobook addict, be sure to stay in listen mode for the dual narrator blooper bits at the end. Jackie Chan would be proud.

It was ok

Not as good as the other series of books and the ending seemed rushed and quick.

Step back boys, Cindy's in town!

Cindy's Seven
By C.T. Phipps
This is a hilarious adventure of Cindy trying to make a name for herself by gathering a group of baddies and do something fabulously villainly! Yes, that's a word now because I just used it! Cindy would approve! Cindy wants exactly a certain number in her group. She has a big target in mind that will make her name remembered for decades or longer! But things don't go as planned!
A fun and funny story with many of the fan favorite characters all together! Really enjoyed this romp into crazy town! Great job Phipps!
Great narration!
