Summary
Rest your mind, body, and spirit and focus on God's principles for keeping the Sabbath with this helpful guide from best-selling author Robert Morris.
A constant stream of busyness can slowly wear away at us over time: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Yet believers often forget that taking a day of rest is one of the Ten Commandments! When we don't give our minds and emotions a break, our will to make good choices can often become compromised. Resting is also important to those around you. If you have a weary soul, you can't pour yourself into others at home, work, or wherever you are. It's vital-you must take the day off.
In Take the Day Off, Pastor Morris explains why rest is central to your well-being, how to do it, and how helpful it can be. You will be inspired to experience true rest and make it a priority in the rhythm of your weekly schedule. Don't wait and delay God's blessings in your life. Start implementing the principle of rest in your life and you will see eternal benefits.

The narrator puts me to sleep
I've tried to listen to this book as well as The Blessed Life second addition and I just can't make it through the forward because of the narrator. I love Pastor Robert's preaching, teaching, and story telling. I wish he had enough time to narrate his own books. I would listen to them multiple times like a listen to his messages multiple times via podcast. Just a poor choice for a narrator.

I’m forcing my husband to read this book now
This is really encouraging. I especially love the real life examples of how God supernaturally blessed people when they took the day off to rest.

Struggling to work
I have been struggling to go to work for months now. I have also been in ministry for many years and have pride my self for giving everything I have. Well, it makes sense that I am burned out and need rest. This book GOD sent me in the right time. My wife listened to the portion of the book and we are definitely starting to take shabbats every week! Thank you Robert Morris for clear explanation!

Great idea, but should have been an article
Pastor Robert Morris argues effectively for taking a day off, and also a vacation every year. He provides Biblical examples of why this is God's idea, as well as examples from business and other areas.
My only issue with the book is that Robert did a lot of filler work, repeating himself, and adding a lot of content that didn't seem necessary. I think this would have been a great article or sermon series, but when it became a book, the publisher required a lot more content, probably much more than was necessary.
