About this listen
THE ALL NEW NOVEL FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES AND NEW YORK TIMES MILLION-COPY BESTSELLING AUTHOR
A GILMORE GIRLS MEETS SCHITT'S CREEK REDEMPTION ROMCOM
Hazel Hart was a successful romance novelist until a breakup drives her straight into writer's block. Having failed (and failed some more) to deliver her new manuscript, she's hiding from the world behind a wall of old takeout containers until her publisher lays down the law. If she misses her next deadline it's The End.
Desperate for inspiration, Hazel impulse-buys a historic home online and flees Manhattan to tiny Story Lake, PA. Upon her dramatic arrival - involving an incident with a bald eagle - she discovers the charm of her new home may have been slightly exaggerated.
The house is a wreck and the town is struggling after their biggest employer shut down. Also, since her raccoon-infested home came with a seat on the town council our introverted heroine is stuck with a front row seat to all the small-town shenanigans.
But Hazel isn't worried. Not since all six-feet-three inches of grouchy contractor Campbell Bishop slapped a bandage on her forehead and unintentionally inspired the heck out of her. There's only one thing to do: Hire Cam and his equally gorgeous brothers to renovate her new spider museum ... er ... house.
Okay, two things. A fake date for 'research purposes' will really put her work-in-progress on track. Before Hazel knows it, she's writing a romance novel and living one. At least until the drywall dust settles, the town she's falling in love with faces bankruptcy and growly Cam remembers why he can't live happily ever after.
Author's note: This series is my love letter to every reader who said they wanted to move to a fictional town...

Fantastic!
This is such a heart warming, beautiful, and satisfying story! A true labour of love! I particularly liked that this small town was so very different in every way from Knockemout (which I already loved). So while it's definitely got it's small town quirky charms, there's a very different vibe to both the town and its characters. Both narrators are brilliant, and SebYo is perfection here.

I want to live in Story Lake!
What did I LOVE about this book? Everything! The small town community, the laugh out loud moments, the fact that Hazel and Cam were perfect for each other, the loyalty and support of an amazing best friend and the love within an amazing family … this book just provided all the feels! I’ve been waiting for this to come out for months and it did not disappoint! The narration was immaculate too and the personalities of the main characters were captured perfectly.
I so hope this is the start of a new series - too many amazing characters have been introduced for it not to be!
In sum, absolutely brilliant and another superb book by Lucy Score!

Small town romance at its best
Few do small town romance as well as Lucy. Great laugh out loud banter, crazy animals and found family.

Entertaining
I binged listened to this over a weekend. It did feel like I was listening to another book from 'The Things We..' collection as the characters were similar but with different names. In true Lucy Score style, she had me howling with laughter and then fanning myself at the steamy and very descriptive intimate scenes.
The ending was great (she plays a little trick on us) and I'm hoping this will turn into a collection as there are a range of characters to work with.
I highly recommend.

Love love love this
My only problem is that I now have to wait for the rest in the series. This was a beautiful book, laughed out loud and tears at times.
Really nice vulnerable parts as well as the cutest small town characters throughout. Loved!

4.5✨
This had me laughing out load, while stuck in traffic. To the point where the person in the lane next me to gave me a look. I think they where jealous because I was having fun, and they where not.
