Summary
Through mistakes of drinks, pranks, and choices, we four teenagers were fishers without nets. This audiobook reveals the effects of horror, love, drinking, and drugs through the events recorded from 1977 to 1982. If you liked the movie Stand by Me by Stephen King based on his short story called “The Body”, then you will love these stories. It is dedicated to God and Stephen King, the true horror master. For, like in his books, this story involves young men and women who searched for love in a small town, many years ago.
The narration is full of emotional roller-coaster rides, romance, losses, pranks, death, and resurrection. Though most of us think middle school is just a bump in the road, it can shape your life and choices forever.
After being shot at several times, knifed, gang-beaten, sexually abused by adults, and almost killed by a live-in boyfriend, I survived. Yet, the story is about four young teenage boys who struggle to remove the masks of small-town hypocrisy. They steal beer, weed, and whiskey and are chased by a "Boss", a not-so-lively fellow.
It is my hope that this audiobook will be a source of inspiration to young teens to overcome obstacles of abuse, identity, petty crimes, and domestic violence. Though the names have been changed to protect the innocent, most of what you listen to will connect with you in a way you might have experienced while watching The Outsiders or The Warriors.
