When the main characters wife died
What does John Slattery bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The feeling of being there with the characters
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
This could really happen.......
Any additional comments?
I usually only like women authors but a friend recommended The Women's Murder Club and I listened to all 12 in record time. My mother was really poorly in hospital at the time (sadly died in September) and I couldn't sleep. When I'd read the WMC books I used to fall asleep regularly so I bought the Michael Bennett book in the hope it would help. It was a riveting interesting read and it filled my head with words at a time I really didn't want to think. It helped me sleep as I often drifted off while listening and if I didn't I enjoyed the story so much it stopped me grieving (if only for a short while). The characters were excellent and the voices were really believable as what you would imagine them to sound like, I'm now working my way through that series and am enjoying every minute of the books so far!

A must listen to.
Being addicted to crime thrillers and such like, I was delighted with the curve the writer has put into this story. Quite brilliantly set out with an excellent by-line of 10 little people made this extremely interesting and an abominal villan who really gets under your skin. Miss this one at your own loss!

At his best
As usual James Patterson has you gripped and unable to put down this book.
Tragedy strikes twice in this book and breaks your heart at the same time as it speeds up it's beat. Exciting ,intriguing and appauling. A must for any Patterson fan!

Great story
Only thing that spoilt the book for me were the sound effects I thought they were not necessary.

Different in a good way
Not the usual James Patterson. it's very restricted in events. however intrigued to understand the series. A definite difference between Alex Cross books which is great!

LOVE Michael Bennett...but...
I adore the Michael Bennett series and have them all in book form, yes REAL books :)
I thought I would start getting the audiobooks as well as I spend a lot of time listening to my Audible library when I'm crafting.
How disappointed I am with Step on a Crack though...not with the book itself of course but with that TERRIBLE so-called 'background' incidental music. At times it comes across so loud that it drowns the narrative, and it is a totally unnecessary distraction. I have the rest of the series on my Wish List and am hoping that they have left out the awful addition in future volumes. I will buy the rest of the series, but new buyers beware of this one if you don't like being distracted from the brilliant story.

Book
I did not like the sound effects. There is no need for music behind narrative.

Insightful!
Not bad. Almost every chapter, reflecting on how the price of freedom suffers a huge price; while the preservation of sanity, almost comes at a loss. To be honest, in my own opinion, there were no winners in this book, but just a few lessons to learn.
