I picked this up for my 10-year old, and they were hooked from the first chapter. The ocean world was so vivid, and they kept telling me all about Zaleia and the cool robot sidekick. It’s got just the right mix of danger, mystery, and heart perfect for a curious middle grader. Honestly, it even got them off their tablet for a while, which says a lot! We’re already hoping there’s a next book in the series.

I picked this up on a whim and ended up binge-listening the whole thing in two days. The narrator brings real personality to each character, making it easy to follow who's speaking. What struck me most was the creative world-building - the aquatic civilizations felt completely unique. The action sequences had me on the edge of my seat, especially during the underwater battles.
