About this listen

The Harts are a family of San Francisco firefighters. Their family motto is: Heart comes first.

Heartbreaker Connor Hart, one of the youngest fire chiefs in the country, is planning on marrying Dr. Elaine Woo, a woman who pretended to cheat on him with his best friend many years ago. She bought him a Dalmatian puppy, he gave her a ring—and the women of San Francisco are about to lose their most eligible bachelor.

Artist and poet Nadine Woo is down on her luck. The cast-off half-sister of Dr. Elaine Woo, she doesn’t measure up, according to her strict and distant father. When Nadine and her mother are about to be evicted from their apartment, she gets an interesting offer from her sister. Seems she’s in need of a little help concerning her relationship with Fire Chief Connor Hart.

As soon as Nadine meets Connor, she knows she’s in for a rough ride. Connor is the fireman who rescued her and her little gray kitten, and she’s never forgotten how safe she felt in his arms. When Nadine takes her sister’s place at a spring fling weekend with Connor, love ignites, and there’s no going back. Can a spunky little kitty show Connor and Nadine that doing the wrong thing is sometimes right, especially when it comes to love?

The Hart family has my Heart!

I have been waiting to listen to Connor's story and what a treat this one is! In the previous books, Connor has always been a little aloof, always keeping his heart guarded and only opening for the return of Elaine. At the end of book 2, these two are back together, but is it really true love? Now with Elaine's father looking to marry her best friend, a plan is concocted with her siblings, and Nadine, her half sister comes into play. The future is never what you expect and this has never been so true as in this book. Rachelle Ayala has thrown a wrench into the story with a little mystery thickening the plot and making us wonder which family members are trustworthy! I was thoroughly engaged in the story, love the addition of the pets(Grayheart was so lovable as well as the return of Cinder) and enjoyed meeting up with Connor's friends and relatives again. Add in some firefighting and crazy family dynamics and we have another wonderful installment of this series.

Jennifer Groberg continues the narration of this series, and she has become the Hart family voice for me. I loved it!

Sweet and clean with a bit of Paine, poetry & fire

What a surprise this Have a Hart story turned out to be! I suppose Fire Chief Connor Hart deserved so much more than a sweet romance.

This story is sugary sweet but also funny and suspenseful. It has characters that are quirky, (like Nadine), endearing (like Connor), frustrating (for instance Elaine and her father) but also manipulative and crazy (I am not giving this away). We get to revisit with characters from the previous book, namely the Hart family and their significant others, and see how their relationships are progressing. And what is a fireman's story without a little fire!!

Rachelle Ayala's romances are mostly feel-good stories that reflect her diverse knowledge of Asian culture and cuisine as well as her Christian faith (though the religious element is really more a mention than the focus. She is in no way preachy or moralistic in her approach.). This story is no exception. This series also reflects her love for animals. In fact, little kitty GrayHeart/Gray Hart may actually be the star of the show!

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the sudden twists in the plot, the flawed characters, their relationships and the moments when you question their decisions, and all that delicious food.

Spring to a great story

Another great story from Rachel. Rachel stories always brings a smile to your face, your heart and your ears . What starts off as a desperate move or a need for help bring the two characters together. This is my first in the series .
Hero is Connor . Heroine is Nadine

Nadine is in a bind , she needs to be rescued. Her cat went up a tree Nadine knew that she had to rescue her when Nadine went up the tree . Right when Nadine thought it was safe to come down she realized she’s to high up . That is when Connor comes to Nadine rescue . That is when they hit it off and . But Connor is planning on marrying Nadine sister , Dr. Elaine Woo. Can you imagine the questions and choices that need to be made . Grab it and see who the fire chief Conner ends up with
Jennifer performance was good. Her tone for the scenes and characters were good. Her voice is clear and strong
