Summary

They'll bless your heart before they hex your a**.

Foster kid Briar Givhans grew up on the wrong side of the Charleston society tracks. She has no idea who her parents are or where she came from. She showed up as a toddler on the door step of a fire station with a note stuck to her back with just her name and age on it. No one ever claimed her. Now she's an adult and has long since given up on figuring out her true identity. And then Hell's Belles comes knocking on her door....

Excellent Narration of a fairly average story

Nicole Poole has the ability to lift a fairly average story to the point that you end up listening until the end. However after the main character (Briar) exited the orphanage the story seemed to meander and jump around to the point that I didn’t really care what happened to anyone anymore. The orphanage side characters were dropped completely and a plethora of new characters were thrown around like cheap
Confetti. The action picks up towards the end but then stops mid scene in the hopes of tempting the listener to buy the next book, which I won’t. I hope others enjoy it but compared to other authors like Ilona Andrews, KF Breene, Darynda Jones or Patricia Briggs this really isn’t in the same league
