Cole Anders is in his last season at Fullton State. If he doesn't get drafted this year, he'll be forced to hang up his cleats for good. It's not something he's ready to do. To prove he's serious about his final season, he's given up girls. No more casual hookups, dates, or one-night stands. But there's one girl who has always refused to give up on him. Vincent is offering me the opportunity of a lifetime - he’ll pay for my tuition and expenses at an exclusive university. All I have to do is move back in with him and his sons. Leo, Hayle, and Tristin Sharpe are no longer the boys I remember. They're all grown up, with the adult attitudes, tensions, and sex appeal to prove it. They aren’t my problem anymore. Yet, somehow, they keep drawing me into their web of drama. I might be the only person who can fix what’s broken between them. But I don't trust that they won't shatter me in the process.

My first crush. My first kiss. The boy who ripped my heart out of my chest again and again. Over and over. I let him have it every single time. Willingly. We are that toxic high school couple you hear about, the one you witness in the hallway as they avoid each other. You laugh at them in class when they’re forced to work together, their gazes full of hatred. We are the couple you gossip about when they win homecoming prince and princess their sophomore year.... The back and forth is what kills me the most. I’m not his princess, I’m the girl he toys with when he’s bored.

Hang on a second. I never bullied anyone. I’m not that guy. I was a star quarterback in high school with more friends than I could keep track of. With it being my senior year and college scouts already taking interest, I had a bright future. Then, this crazy redhead shows up ranting at me like I’m the filth of the Earth...what right does she have? So naturally, I had to defend myself. I may have gone a little overboard - but it was only to ensure she’d stay out of my way for good. That was four years ago.

Summary
She’s his best friend’s little sister and off limits.
College freshman, Finley Farrow, has two fairly ambitious goals this school year: make the football team and get over Shepard Connelly. The gorgeous football player with the magnificent voice would one day be a star on or off the field. But he’ll never see her as more than his best friend’s sister. Now her eye is on the end zone. Making the team could turn out to be the easy part. Practicing with Shepard every day while ignoring her feelings? The real challenge.
Shepard hasn’t had it easy like the Farrows. He won his ticket to the prestigious Layton University through football. Yet his passion lies in music. His killer smile can get him almost any girl he wants, except the one he can’t have. Everything he’s wanted to say to her is channeled into his soul wrenching lyrics. But he’s been sitting on the sideline far too long, and it’s time to make a move before the team’s starting quarterback wins her heart.
A life altering accusation could fumble everything for him. Most importantly, his big play for the only girl he’s ever wanted.
Family, friendship and love bind them together. Secrets, lies, and rules keep them apart.

This book is wonderful!!
Terri E Laine has written an amazing story of love, yes.. but also one the tugs at our social consciousness. She not only wows with a college sports story where a female makes it as a college football player, but one in which a young woman makes it her mission to ruin more than one young mans lives because of a past of not being believed.
Shepherd lives Finley, but is he brothers best friend. He has moment where he realizes that he could lose her, and decides that he needs to make a choice. He chooses, and there are consequences he may have expected, but doesn’t like. In the meantime Shepherd is accused of something he did not do and finds himself being railroaded by a system that he doesn’t have the means to fight. He finds out just how strong he is, how strong Finley is, and how much she is on his ream.
I love this story, and I mean every part! As a young man who could have wanted his accuser to be punished, he showed compassion. As a young man in love, he showed it was real and that he was in it for the long haul. This made me very, very fond of Shepherd. I loved everything about this story and the characters.
Teri Schnaubelt and Zachary Webber were wonderful on this book! Teri Schnaubelt was new to me, and she is very good! Zachary Webber was not new to me and he also did a wonderful job, as always!

Such a sweet , feelgood story
This story had me smiling throughout and rooting for love to win the day.
I randomly enjoy reading YA, college stories. It makes me feel good knowing that life
used to be easy , and all you had to worry about was boys and lessons.
I liked all the characters, the two sweet hearts Finley and Shephard, and the rest of the family.
Growing up with a crush on your brothers best friend/sister was not easy, keeping it quiet, yet
staying in their orbit even harder. With all of the college parties. teenage hormones and popularity
contests there is lots to keep you reading on. l loved that the family and friends were so tight and
looked out for each other so much.
Finley being passionate about football, and wanting a place in the team, is not gonna be easy.
Shephard, with a ton of baggage, and a problematic childhood has to work so much harder to fit in.
An accusation from a vulnerable girl, brings all of the events to a head .
Will Shephard get his girl?
Will Finley ever be happy chasing her dreams of football and the boy she loves?
Will pressure from the family, and keeping up with lessons be too much?
This is a very well written story, with enough character development to keep you smiling.
Both the narrators did a very good job bringing all the voices to life, there was enough emotions
to keep me wanting to listen.

A Sweet Friends to Lovers Story
I really loved Songs for Cricket. It was such a sweet love story between Finley and Shepard. It was a coming of age friends to lovers football story. All of the characters (except for Lacey) were so likable. This is the beginning of a new spin-off series from the Chasing Butterflies series. Zachary Webber and Teri Schnaubelt did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review

Cricket, what a story!
This is my second book by Terri E Laine, and I am just enamored with her writing. I was a little cautious thinking it may be too young for me, but this romance hits all the points I enjoy in a story. We have the Farlow triplets, and their friend, Shepard going off to start their first year of college. To stay with the boys, and be with Shep, her long time crush, Finley tries out for the football team and makes it. Socially unacceptable to be a girl playing football, Finley finds herself in for a long haul. But to her surprise, Shep is there to protect her. He too has had a crush, but being his best friend's sister has prevented these two from acting on their feelings. When they do, will he have to choose between his best friend and the love of his life? Not only do we have this story line, but the complex character of Shep gives us a whole other story, with accusations of misconduct, manipulation and sheer distress. It's a wonderfully written, compassionate and even a little steamy. Laine is master at his new adult genre.
Teri Schnaubelt and Zachary Webber hit all the emotions in this story. Schnaubelt is amazing. Her voicing of Finley made me remember being in college, feeling that incredible love as well as the hurt and frustration of situations. She made Finley credible and very real.Webber always delivers, and he gives Shep all the feels. He makes it so you know the characters, and feel their emotions. The two compliment each other well and made it a fantastic listen.

Great Story!
Songs for Cricket by Terri E. Laine can be characterized as friends to lovers or friends little sister romance or a sports romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teri Schnaubelt and Zachary Webber. It is book one in the Butterfly Duet Series that is a spin-off of the Chasing Butterflies Series that can be read as standalone novels.
This is the first book of Terri’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I enjoyed the detail she put into the storyline. I really enjoyed the narrators on this project. I love when there are two narrators to help distinguish between the characters easily. They pulled me into the story and I just had to know how it was going to end.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves friends to lovers, sports romance, best friends sister books.

Great story
This was the first book from Terri Laine that I have listened to and I really liked it. It was a friends to lovers/sports/brother's best friend story. Finley and Shepard grew up together and lived together due to his family issues. They ended up going to the same college and why they were there, some major things went down with Shepard and they had to fight to prove that he was innocent. Once you get started you won't want to put it down. You get sucked into the story and you want to see if they will be able to get their HEA. The narration was great, Zachary and Teri brought life to the characters.

Zachary Webber is a favorite of mine and was wonderful in this. Teri Schnaubelt was very very good. I believe this is my first audio listen of hers and I would recommend her narrations.

Friends to Lovers with a Twist!!!
This is another great release by Terri E. Laine. Friends to Lovers romance with my favorite Forbidden theme, brother’s Best Friend.
Finley has been secretly in love with Shepard Connelly for years and has given up hope that he will ever see her as anything more than his best friends little sister. But now that Finley has started showing interest in other guys, Shepard realizes he can’t keep his hidden feelings quiet any longer. Oh yes!! He feels the same way too!!
But when Finley joins the guys in College and makes it on the football team, things begin to change in her relationship with Shepard as well as the guys on the team.
People are determined to keep them apart and lies, deceit and false accusations will turn their worlds upside down.
But together these two have each other’s backs and show how deep their trust and friendship truly runs.
A great cast of characters and enough angst to keep you on the edge of your seat.
This was told in both Shepard and Finley’s POV and Zachary Webber was amazing as always!! This was the first time I’ve listened to Teri Schnaubelt narrate and I really liked her style and voice.
I would definitely recommend this book!

Sweet and swoonable!
Finn is such a great female lead. She's obviously a fierce competitor, on and off the field. She's loyal to those she loves and fights for what she deems right. Shep was where it was at for me!! He was one of the most swoonable men characters I've listened to in a while. I could not help but fall for him. Really, it's no wonder Finn fell so hard for him or him even fling for her. You put two amazing, unrelated people together for so long, well something is bound to happen!!
The narrators for Songs for Cricket are absolutely perfect. I could hear Zachary Webber singing some of Shep's songs. He really just seemed to fit for everything that is the amazing character of Shep. Teri Schnaubelt was a remarkable Finn. The narrator for her really needed to be a woman that wasn't too happy and girly sounding but still sounded like a woman. Terri was a perfect fit!

Loved this fun, sweet, and steamy romance!
I really enjoyed this coming of age, forbidden romance. When the Farrow triplets head off for college along with their best friend, Shepard Connelly, they see a new world of possibilities. Finley wants to start a new life where her father doesn't hold her back in favor of her brothers and to get over her crush on Shepard as well. She wants to find new friends and to make the football team. She is independent, competitive, and determined to prove herself on and off the field. Shepard is a poetic soul, but needs his football scholarship to pay for school. He has loved his best friends sister for a long time but doesn't feel worthy of her because of his meager and shameful family history. The chemistry between Shepard and Finley was palpable, but they didn't know how to navigate their relationship from friends to lovers without hurting her brothers, August and Cooper. College life brings all the complications and challenges that make Shepard, Finley, and her brothers grow from all their mistakes and successes. This is a sweet, steamy, and angsty romance, with several twists and turns that kept me totally engaged and is brought to life beautifully by talented narrators, Teri Schnaubelt, and Zachary Webber. Schnaubelt embodied Finley's strength, resilience, and vulnerability flawlessly. Webber was exceptional as he brought out the range of emotions that Shepard struggled with from his family secrets to the heartbreak of loving his 'off limits' best friends sister. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expression that I love to get lost in and make this story even better.
This is a good start to this new series and I can't wait for August and Cooper's story!

loving your brothers best friend
Finely loves her twin brothers best friend . finely also wants to play college football. I didn't like how Finley and Shepherd always seemed to get there feelings crossed . I was a little flustered with them not realizing they loved each other. I did not like the girls name Beatrice Finley .

Great Story & Audible Listen🎧 4.5 Heartfelt🌟Stars🌟
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is a great story that is not your usual college sports romance. The storylines are interesting and original, they grab you from the start and captivate your mind from start to end. I really liked the characters and how well the author developed them. Finley, August and Cooper are triplets are starting college, they chose to go to the same school and are living together in a town house along with Shepard, August and Cooper’s best friend. I admired Finley’s strength and determination going for what she wants. I appreciated the support she received from her brothers and Shepard, I loved the camaraderie between them. Shepard and Finley secretly crushed on each other but both are afraid to act on it afraid how her brothers & family will react. My one grievance in this story is how long it took for them to act on that crush, it got a bit frustrating. But all is redeemed when they finally do. I loved the chemistry between them from the start, loved how she was his biggest supporter throughout his ordeal. Also loved the camaraderie between the triplets and Shepard too. I highly recommend this story, it is enjoyable and entertaining, there is no shortage of drama, angst, twists, emotions and great romance. This is my first book written by Terri E. Laine and it will not be my last. Thank you for this great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the talented Teri Schnaubelt and Zachary Webber who are amazing and entertaining storytellers and voice performers. They bring the characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. They project the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story in their performance. Thank you for another great listen🎧

A great, realistic storyline
Finley makes the football team against her father's and brother's advice. She is determined to play with the guys as if nothing would be different. Sheperd has been the one that got away for Finley until now. I love the push and pull of these two as they struggled with being teammates and lusting after each other. Hazing the new teammate seems to be an issue for real at colleges and it is brought up in this story. Another issue that plagues colleges is rape, which is also touched upon in this story. I think both issues were handled with great care and true to life outcomes.
Terri Schnaubelt and Zachary Webber are a great narrating team. They both narrated the characters to bring them to life. It was as if the story was a movie playing in my mind instead of someone reading it. I completely got lost in the narration and loved it. Both Ms Schnaubelt and Mr Webber have voices that are easy to listen to and made the narration easy to follow. This narrating team enhanced the overall experience of this story.
