Stories inspired by Christmas Carols
This Audiobook is a collection of stories loosely related to Christmas carols, and arranged as an Advent Calendar for the 25 days leading up to December 25th. Most are relatively short, with the exception of one that is spread out over four days, and they cover themes ranging from family stories, romance, historical drama, and even one with a space theme. I would consider this an 'adult' advent calendar, and I don't think (especially younger) children would understand or enjoy many of the stories. Many of the stories revolve around people struggling to find themselves or just make it through the challenges of life. To be honest, I expected more of the stories to have a more upbeat tone, or end on a happy note. Many did, but just as many did not, or worse seemed to end in limbo with no real resolution. Many of the stories felt incomplete to me. It was an ok listen, but I don't think I will revisit it again.
The narration was ok, but many times the narrator's voice seemed to soften or fade out before resuming a normal volume. Also, there were some instances of repeated lines.
