Story
Devon Douglas can’t believe it when she comes face-to-face with Sadie again. They were inseparable in high school until Devon did something she ruined their friendship on a lovestruck whim. Sadie is as dazzling as Devon remembers—and she can still hold her own surfing the wild waves of Clearwater Bay. Devon’s first priority is her five-year-old son, but getting to know Sadie all over again is taking up more and more of her headspace. Sadie is inexplicably drawn to Devon. It could be nostalgia. Or remnants of their old friendship flaring. But what if it’s more than that?

Ida Burton used to be Hollywood’s sweetheart until the best roles started drying up in her 40s. When Ida lands one of the leads in a big-budget lesbian rom-com, it's not only a chance at reviving her dwindling career. Maybe this movie can be an opportunity to finally burst out of the closet she's forced herself into. Faye Fleming has been at the top of her acting game and collecting awards for the past few years. When she's cast in a huge blockbuster opposite the legendary Ida Burton, she's over the moon.

Story
Caroline Parker knows three things to be true. First, she is going to be Boston's most sought-after divorce attorney by 35. Second, given how terrible her romantic track record is, falling in love isn't in the cards for her. And third, Christmas only brings her bad luck - being broken up with not once, not twice, but three times during the holidays is proof enough of that. When she runs into Hannah Dalton on Christmas Eve, she has no reason to believe her luck will change. After all, though Hannah is probably the most gorgeous woman she's ever seen, she's also straight.

Different take on f/f relationship
Most f/f novels feature twenty something couples. There are a few that don't, and this one focus on a f/f relationship where there is a large age gap between the two woman. There are many of insights in the book that relating this difficulty and how it affects them getting together. The problem is aggravated by the fact that Alice has fallen for the young Joy, who happens to be the daughter of Alice's business partner and friend.
On the basis of above that's why I give it such a high rating. There are a couple of things which means I didn't score it all five. First, in places the dialogue is not natural and almost narrative. Second, is some sentences should have ended before they did. Meaning, extra information is tagged on which is not needed, since its already stated, or obvious. And last, the narration is very formative, it does fit with Alice's character, but I would have prefered the narrator to be more natural, and less lawyer like. So, please listen to a sample first. These points are minor, but I make them just on the basis of the writer, or narrator considering them, rather then discouraging someone purchasing the audiobook. It's well worth a listen!

The Narrator and Characters didn't match
I've enjoyed many Harper Bliss novels and the stories are always good and well written however this really put me off listening to any of her books in audio format again.
I found the tone of the narration in conflict with the characters and there were little to no differences when reading different characters dialogue. I didn't enjoy it at all.

Enjoyable May/December lesbian romance
What did you like most about Seasons of Love?
I've read this book before and enjoyed it as a good, easy read with likeable characters and a lovely May/December romance. I was interested to see how it would work with the addition of audio.
What other book might you compare Seasons of Love to, and why?
Harper Bliss's several other May/December romances. I enjoy the genre!
What about Carmen Rose’s performance did you like?
I wasn't sure initially because the accent for both lead characters was different from what I had imagined from reading the book beforehand. And that's the tricky part as what we imagine will be different for everyone. However I thought she did a great job overall. She certainly captured the nuances, the emotions and impact the storyline had on the characters and it definitely added an additional positivity to the read.
Any additional comments?
An enjoyable lesbian fiction romance enhanced by audio!

Lesbian Age Gap Love
Alice and Miranda are law partners; Miranda has to practically force Alice to go on Holiday to her villa in the south of Portugal. Then Miranda's daughter Joy decides that she needs a short vacation. Uptight Alice meets hedonistic Joy, conflict ensues, lust follows, lust so strong that it must be satisfied.
Put that way it sounds simple but aren't all stories pretty simple when put in broad outline. The writing is well done and there are fewer of the contrived breakups and multiple cliches that litter many american romances. The natural problems of a relationship between a fifty year old and their friend and business partner's thirty year old daughter are explored as well as a couple of surprises. I'm not at all certain that this selection deserved five stars but I liked the fact that many of the genre's usual errors were avoided enough to raise it's ranking to the top number.
