About this listen

Seasons of Hope will send you on a journey to Snowflake Falls, the quaintest little town in all of Pinecrest County. Once you arrive, just grab a cup of tea at the local bakery and stay awhile. It won't take long until you feel right at home.

There are many interesting characters in this small town of 998 imperfect souls, many of whom the listener will come to know and love, but it's the special bond between Sigrid Traugott, the young daughter of the Lutheran minister, and Hogan Engle, the son of a convicted felon, that will capture your heart as their story of friendship, separation, heartache, and finally love unfold throughout the many seasons of their lives.

I was loving this story, not just for its entertainment value, but also for it's Christian encouragement, and sound doctrine, until the narrator said they were going to baptize the babies. This goes against everything the Bible says about baptism! I guess there's a lot about different faiths even ones claiming to be Christian that I don't know about, but every baptism in water in the Bible (different from baptism by fire or by the Spirit) is done to people old enough to explain their faith. Even John the Baptizer only baptized adults as far as the Bible describes, and he only offered a baptism of repentance.

Being baptized does NOT save you. It is a work. We are saved only by faith in Christ's work on the cross His resurrection and our belief in His Second Coming. We are not saved by Jesus AND anything. Just Jesus! Only Jesus! Baptism is an outward acknowledgement of what God has ALREADY done in the hearts of believers! It pictures our death, and resurrection which is why it's also supposed to be through submersion if at all possible. God knows our hearts and if a believer is not physically able to go under the water, that's a whole different story.
God commands His "children", which means those who have put their trust in Him, to be baptized. It does not mean underage people, or infants.

I was very disappointed with this part of the story.
I loved the rest of the story, though. I loved learning and these kids that grew up and these adults that continued to grow in their faith! I loved the grace, forgiveness, redemption and healing portrayed by this community!
The narration was very good and the songs added to the story.
