If you didn't know how you do. I'm starting the religion and saw many of the things expressed in this book. But didn't know what was going on. Now I see. Hint the secrecy.

I liked the audible a lot
I liked the audible a lot it helped bring understanding on the orishas and to understand they're a lot like us we've made mistakes that were not perfect but we can still do better the only thing I wish the book had more orishas and talked about them to not just a few of the main ones but in all the book gave me a good start and understanding on the rituals and why they are important and gave me a better understanding on the orishas and their purpose, not gods but a means to be heard by God and guide a very good book

I recommend all beginners in santeria to listen to this to help them fully understand santeria on their journey through this religion I consider this book a stepping stone and a guide for outstanding knowledge and understanding what you are involving yourself in while committing to santeria I believe this book sheds a lot of light and shows the beauty of this religion

I will be using it with the work I do.
I like how the other presents historical details which provide a better connection to the subject matter. Most African Old Religions have a lot in popular and her book did a wonderful job of looking out the exact but significant differences btw Orisha worship.

Good for basic purposes
The pieces of information are easy to grasp and the book is laid out well, and in a consistent, carefully thought way. The checklists and ideas in each chapter are also a nice touch. It is clear to follow, and its defects are rare. All in all, not a bad book.

Pronunciation is horrible
Although this book has great information, the pronunciation of my Orishas and places are important in understanding the information. The lack of correct pronunciation makes it almost impossible to listen to. It needs a new narrator

AWESOME!!!
A very good introduction to the beautiful religion that is Santeria. I would suggest this to anyone who is willing to learn. I'm certain it would take a lifetime to truly know the mysteries of Santeria but this is a good start.

HORRIBLE PRONUNCIATION
THIS BOOK IS VERY ENLIGHTING, HOWEVER IT HURT MY HEART AND HEAD TO LISTEN TO A NON-MULTILINGUAL PERSON BUTCHER THE NAMES AND CONTENT OF THIS BOOK. IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE ORISHAS AND PRACTICES, U WILL BE LOST. PRONUNCIATION IS HIGHLY IMPORTANT HERE.

This is another good book by the author and in this book like her others on Santeria, she really tries to explain what makes this cultural tradition so unique by giving the listener insight into the santeras (initiates in Santeria) magical way of thinking.
