Engrossing thriller mixes science and religion

I loved this book up until the last few chapters, which left me unsatisfied. I think the author doesn't like God very much and some of the plot regarding this didn't make sense - God's asleep at the wheel most of the time but still manages to run the universe?? The subject of string theory fascinates me and the intro on it was great.
The narrator Jesse was brilliant, I completely forgot it was her doing all the voices, she was that good - female and male characters. I'll check out her other stuff and that of the author.
