Summary

"A thorough and needed rebuke of the modern safety profession." (Anonymous)

Change is hard, I get it. But, we move beyond bad ideas by introducing better ideas. I truly believe that by continuing to have these hard conversations in an upfront, honest, and fun way, we cultivate betterment. The safety profession has been stagnant for far too long. Safety folks are abused and misused; they’re often underpaid and overworked; they are undervalued and not appreciated; they find themselves being blamed and shamed when accidents occur; they are torn between the front line and management, they have been forced to knowingly promote flawed, ineffective and disproven safety management systems - to preach from a bible in which they do not believe, and its time for all of that to change.

As an EHS person, this book(?) offered nothing but a blog post rant about how disrespected safety personal are but no real insite. Sorry I wasted the credit.

Much appreciated perspective

Calling it like it is but GSD. Realizing there are others out there and confirming I’m not insane. However I still have hope in the process when I hear his perspective.

Nailed It

This place was built before OSHA was an agency, so its grandfathered in. Errrgggg!@#$%*
When that other guy was here, we never had to follow those rules.

Real

Such a good book. Love how real your book is. Could be better if you focused on the positive side of safety.

Angry book with some good points.

This book has some very valid points. The Author has extreme biases against education, certifications, and professional societies that affected the usefulness of this publication.
