Just WoW

I just happened to find this author and wow this book being my first has made me a fan. The storyline was perfect not all over the place. All the characters came together perfectly and the SPICE LEVEL had me pausing here and there. I had to be careful with where I listened to this amazing book because I was getting looks at the grocery store and at work with all my blushing.

Eh...

I wanted to like this so bad, it was recommended a bunch on booktok so I took the leap. It started pretty good, but the combination of overly emotional language from the MC & the overly emotional narration made this a DNF for me about halfway through. I listened to this on 1.5x hoping it would help, but it's a little too city territory wars/semi-realistic but not believable for me. Spice was good but the MC's internal monologues are just too much. Honestly probably is better in print, but this wasn't worth the credit for me.

I wasn't ready!

Seriously.... I wasn't ready! The summary will mislead you. The relationship does not unfold like I thought. This book is sooooo spicy and unexpected. I had to take breaks to catch my breath. Dark romance novels (romance in general) follows the same formula for the most part.... mega rich handsome man, young virgin-like girl... happily ever after.... blah blah blah.... not this book. The narration was really good too. Kasi performs the male voices really well.

Don’t waste your money!

I wish I could get my money back. This book is terrible on so many levels I don’t even know where to start.

Ehhhh, some teenage drama

I don’t know many 17 year olds that go to clubs and have sex with people in the bathroom. I also thought that there would be a supernatural element simply because of the odd behavior, but no. It just feels like a story written by an 18 year old. The main character is just not believe able. Spoilers, but a woman having a panic attack is not solved through sex. I made it to book 2, but I’m just not enjoying it like other books I’ve read. The sex scenes are very steamy, but all the plot in the background is just bleh. There’s no character development.

The narrator’s voice that she uses for the men in the story made me laugh/cringe often.

Easy listen

This story was an easy listen. The narration was ok, there were a few editing errors but I think the narrator was great with her different voices for characters! The story wasn’t strong enough. I didn’t feel the connection between the characters and the lol enough to get sucked into this story.

Not bad

The story wasn’t bad, kinda slow. It’s one of those listen when your doing things around the house.

It started off ehh but I was quickly hooked

This was hunger games meets 50 shades of grey. I love it. I binged it.

This writer is amazing!

This writer touches on trauma in a way that no other that I’ve read or listen to has. It’s amazing the different kinds of trauma that touch people in their lives. This story struck close to home. It was also a wonderful story. I actually listened to it four times. The only problem I have is somehow the audio track got skippy and repetitive at some points in the story, but I think that’s Audible‘s fault.
