About this listen
The ultimate running guide for women brought to life in audio by author Alexandra Heminsley.
Alexandra had high hopes: the arse of an athlete, the waist of a supermodel, the speed of a gazelle. Defeated by gyms and bored of yoga, she decided to run.
Her first attempt did not end well. Six years later, she has run five marathons in two continents. But, as her dad says, you run with your head as much as with your legs. So, while this is a book about running, it's not just about running. You could say it's about ambition (yes, getting out of bed on a rainy Sunday morning counts), relationships (including talking to the intimidating staff in the trainer shop), as well as your body (your boobs don't have to wobble when you run). But it's also about realising that you can do more than you ever thought possible.
Very funny, very honest, and very emotional, whether you're in serious training or thinking about running for the bus, this is a book for anyone who after wine and crisps for supper a few too many times thinks they might...just might...like to run like a girl.
Alexandra Heminsley is a freelance journalist and broadcaster and a dedicated runner.

What did you like most about Running Like a Girl?
I found this book so inspiring. Read beautifully by the author herself which made it even more interesting as I was able to personally identify with her and the trials and tribulations she went through while running! I found the section on bras and fitness clothing shopping hilarious. I haven't been able to run as I want to for the past 3 years and this book has given me the confidence that I can and will start again. Many thanksWhat about Alexandra Heminsley’s performance did you like?

Very truthful, contains all the questions you may have as a beginner running but did not about and you also learn from her mistakes like buying half a size bigger running shoes …I have learnt by lesson my two black & blue big toe …..Now I go up a half …I wish someone had told me this before….. This book contain a wealth of knowledge which you will need to know if you want to become a serious/middle/long distance runnerFunny & truthful
