Ruby

The book is good, but the narrator is pretty bad. Not enough inflection in her tone and you can hear her swallowing saliva - it's disgusting! I want to hear the next book in the series, but since it is the same narrator - I think I will read it instead.

Unfinished

Would you try another book from Lauraine Snelling and/or Alexandra O'Karma?

I usually like Lauraine Snelling's stories but this one did not keep me waiting for more.
Alexandra O'Karma was very low keyed, melancholy, total lack of excitement in her voice. and spoke extremely slow so that I had to increase the speed on my kindle.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lauraine Snelling? Why or why not?

Yes I already bought several books and am hoping the rest may be more exciting.

Great Listen

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator has a unique voice, but I liked it. Listen to the sample before buying.

Great Story

I had a very hard time listening to this audio. I did so because of the story. The narrator seemed much to old for the characters. It said Rudy was a pretty little blond. That voice did not match the main character. It would be to your advantage to re-record this series. There is a narrator by the name of Aubrey Warner that would be perfect. You will have to look her up because I don’t know where she lives.

One of my favorite books of all time!

Where does Ruby rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ruby, and her sister Opal travel travel at the wish of their father to claim their inheritance. When they arrive, the "inheritance' is a brothel. This book is how Ruby and Opal transform this brothel into a hotel, and transform the town of Little Missouri (not Little Missery) into a decent place to live.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ruby?

When Ruby figures out (or was told) what a brothel was!

What about Alexandra O'Karma’s performance did you like?

Great voices, makes you feel like you are really there.

Who was the most memorable character of Ruby and why?

She stands up for what she believes is right, something we don't often see today!

Any additional comments?

Love the book, comes in a series, Pearl is really good also

Good

Story is good. This is not a romance. Reader was very annoying due to constant sniffling, sighing etc.

Good story. Need a new narrator.

If you can get over the narrator’s slurping saliva out of her mouth, it is a good story.

Not my favorite narrator!

I absolutely love Lauraine Smelling books, so I suffered through the narration. If you're looking for a boring narration that will put you to sleep...this is the one.

Poor narrator

I am a Snelling fan. I was introduced to her storytelling through Audible. Being a listener to audible fiction and non-fiction for
24 years, I can honestly say this narrator is one of the worst I have heard. I had to stop midway thru as I just could not tolerate
the narrator. I recommend Snelling as an author of stories, of interest to women. Just not this narrator!
