Good book

Provides (what I felt was) a CBT based approach at building resilience. Would be better to buy book rather than use as an audiobook as it has checklists and other activities that are better done with printed version.

Nothing memorable

Mediocre book with over-the-top enthusiastic reading that was not enjoyable. If you've had any introduction to mindfulness at all then skip this one because it ain't gonna add any value.

Very good

I started off reading the paperback book from the library and was so impressed with the content that I thought I'd try the audiobook. The narration is excellent as is the content.

Solid if unremarkable

Perfectly fine – but you won't find much that's new if you've already got basic knowledge about the effects of exercise, positive thinking etc. It's a convenient package of ideas however to give yourself a quick boost, although I am sceptical about the "4 week" concept it's based around. It's good to have practical steps in a book like this, but I wonder if you can deal with the issues posed by this book in such a neat timescale.

Narrator is fine.

What did you like about this audiobook?

This is by far one of the most useful books I've listened to and i've found it so helpful and so easy to put into practice. I really recommend.

Do you have any additional comments?

The book also includes practical steps called 'Over to you' to complete along side this book. I was struggling to write these out with the the audio format so i emailed the author who provided me with a word document of the steps to complete. I was so grateful and it definitely encouraged me to be thorough with the 'homework' and not skip past parts. I can already tell that this is helping me. Give it a go!

simple way of trying to make things rights

you are not your thoughts and changing thoughts doesn't work.
positive thoughts/negative thoughts!!!!! thoughts are thoughts. even making them negative or positive is a judgement. passé way of coaching

Offensive

A flip comment she made about changing your attitude to infertility was done so flippantly and insensitively that I turned off and deleted immediately. Having experienced infertility I know changing your attitude doesn’t help with coping with the pain and loss that comes with it.
