Summary

It's the best night of her life. It's the last night of her life.

Sixteen-year-old Jenna Harbough's parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It's the best night of her life. It's the last night of her life.

Minutes later, Jake's in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it's no use. It's time to call Lieutenant Eve Dallas.

Who could want this level-headed teen, passionate about her music, dead? Was she targeted or could she have been the victim of a random attack? And if she was, who's next.....?

suspense, drama and humour mark this series.

This book is good at keeping you on the edge of your seat and as usual it leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for book number 59 in the series.

Always an enjoyable listen

Susan Erickson always does such an excellent job of narrating the In Death series and this was no different.

I enjoy when the intermittent characters make an appearance so I liked the appearance of Jamie and Quilla.

As always, already looking forward to the next in the series.

I liked the strong story line

Great book. I can never get enough of these! I like the fact the women in them are strong leaders and the men are attracted to them because of that!

Is it really JD Robb?

The last 2 or 3 books in the in Death series seem a little off. The story is OK, but... like how on earth can Eve and Peabody forgotten about the real coffee in Eve's office? or Roarke forgotten about all the fancy meals in her autochef?
Where is the special chat when Morris and Eve are inspecting a body, or Mira talking to Eve? And Mavis? I have read/listened to all books in the series, and the last ones just don't feel quite the same.

Another boring book

The drone of the narrators book would put you to sleep if the story line didn’t.
