Quick Dirty Luck is book two in the Love Between the Pages series. It was fabulous to have a romance author as the main character who finds love whilst managing a romance business which is just perfect for a romance reader. Alexis has to organise a venue in Vegas for an upcoming book event, when she finds the perfect place she ends up coming across Kent Kingsley the hotel owner and right from the off there is an instant attraction between them. Alexis decides to run but Kent has other ideas and peruses Alexis with some help along the way. I loved the mix of sexual tension, romance and the angst between the two which made their relationship very hot. Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock did an amazing job and brought both characters to life that made this a fabulous listen.

This is book two in this series about romance writers and their HEA. This one is about Alexis and Kent and when Alexis aka Raina is seeking a venue for a book event she is contracting with Kent and his brother to use their hotel conference room. Alexis gets more than she expected and so does Kent.

Aaron and Heather do a great good narrating this book. It is funny at times and hot at others and interesting to have a character that is a romance author. I enjoyed listening to this book.

I enjoyed this story. I found it flowed well... There was a bit of a power struggle between Kent and Alexis. At times I wondered why she didn't tell Kent and his family to do one, because I know I would of! So at time I felt myself thinking "really, you're going to just go with this?" Other than that a nice easy listen.

I really liked the writing style and will try more by this author, however I didn't actually like this story. I somehow liked the characters even though I didn't like a lot of their actions. The bickering didn't bother me, however it was A LOT of games and general dishonestly (making people jealous, etc.).

The narration was great with dual narrators for the dual points of view, which I always appreciate. I would recommend listening to the audio version.

Quick Dirty Luck is a steamy rom com. It is the entertaining story of Kent and Alexis who are a couple with explosive chemistry but both want power and control so the angst is high as they are continually playing games with each other. She keeps running away and he just keeps creating these stunts to win her back which makes for an interesting story with lots of fireworks. Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock both did an excellent job bringing this story to life.

I loved the audio it was an easy listen from start to finish.

The book itself was good, I enjoyed the story and the characters. I just thought Alexis was gullible when getting the phone calls, she should have known what was happening.

I was interested in this one, because it seemed sexy and fascinating–I love having a look behind the curtain, and following a romance author, who uses a pen name to write erotica, while she organizes a signing event, had me thrilled. And in those points, this book delivers. The steamy scenes are scorching hot, and we get a glimpse at what it is to be a romance writer.

I also enjoyed both narrators. The male reader is especially good with sweet whispering–he gets you shivering. The female reader did a remarkable job, both sexy and strong and emotional when needed. A really good audiobook.

The story itself, I didn’t enjoy that much. I didn’t feel the growing feelings between Alexis and Kent–it was once again instalust, with a side of hate sex. If the characters didn’t keep saying that “there was something more”, I wouldn’t have seen it.

I loved the characters though, all of them. The whole Kingsley clan is delightful.

I realized afterwards that I actually own the first book of the series as an audiobook too, so I’ll probably revisit the characters later.

A feisty, strong, author heroine and a hot hotelier meet in a bar....and a small conflagration is ignited! Alexis and Kent are destined to butt heads, but the attraction they have for each other is so strong..and insanely hot. With a great plot line involving a book convention in the making, (oh how I miss those!), our couple are fire and earth, with Kent an often clueless suitor!
This has been such a fun listen and both Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock are excellent in the roles. They brought strength and nuance to their narration, bringing both humour and humanity to the story. 💖💖💖💖
