Story
The prophecy was clear. Upon the death of three kings, the world will be plunged into chaos, and all the cast-out demons of history will return to bring blood and horror to the world. Two of the kings are dead. The third, about to be born, is hunted by the Demon Riders of the Krayakin, Lords of the Undead. All the terrifying forces of evil range against a pregnant queen at bay in a haunted forest. But she is not alone. Three warriors stand with her, the last remnants of the once proud Drenai army.

Rhyming Rings is a never-before-seen Gemmell novel, discovered in his papers by his widow, Stella Gemmell. Merging autobiographical details of Gemmell's life as a journalist in South London with a serial killer and a tinge of the supernatural, this is perfect for fans of David's work as well as fans of gritty crime novels. Set against the backdrop of a London simmering with poverty, change and racial tension, this taut thriller is a fitting legacy for the great writer.

They came from the North, their dragon-prowed longships gliding out of the dawn mist as they descended on the kingdom's most sacred site. It is 8th June AD 793, and with the pillage of the monastery on Lindisfarne, the Viking Age has begun. While his fellow monks flee before the Norse onslaught, one young novice stands his ground.

Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: the Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption. Orso will find that when the world is turned upside down, no one is lower than a monarch.

Summary
The Drenai fortress of Dros Delnoch has fallen, and blood-hungry Nadir hordes sweep across the land, bringing desolation and despair. But with the Nadir triumphant, slavers seize a young girl in the tiny realm of Gothir, and a peasant boy steps off on a quest that will shake the world.
To rescue her, Kiall must cross the savage steppes and journey through the Halls of Hell, facing ferocious beasts, deadly warriors and demons of the dark.
But the boy is not alone. With him are the legendary heroes of Bel-Azar: Chareos the Blademaster, Beltzer the Axeman and the bowmen Finn and Maggrig.
And one among them hides a secret that could free the world of Nadir domination. For he is the Nadir Bane, the hope of the Drennai.
He is the Earl of Bronze.

David Gemmell is a gem of a writer
Sean Barrett narrates very well and helps to give Gemmell's books justice. I have listen to all 4 Drenai books so far and in order and will look forward to listen to the 5th. All are super books, listen to them in order. I suffer from dyslexia and find it hard to read books. Thanks to Audible for letting me discover this author you will not be disappointed!.

The Ghosts-yet-to-be ride again
Classic , Gemmell. The highest praise you can give in this genre. Performance is good and allows the story to unfold in centre stage right to the end .... some author's write well but struggle to give a satisfying ending; David Gemmell always delivers at the denouement and this is another example. A great joy to finally have these magical books available on Audible.

I love this book and is in my top 5.
I can't get enough of his work. I have read this and all of his books over and over again, and getting to listen to them at work or when doing diy or just when chilling is such a pleasure.
it is well read and I feel a little sad that I finished it in less than a day but I just couldn't turn it off.
Well I'm off to start another of his book now.
I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did.
